Eh the whiners are the same dozen people who aren’t happy no matter what happens. Their opinions are irrelevant. I’m excited about WS because I want there to be a successful spin off and I’m really glad they’ve finally listened and are going to try it with characters that already exist and are already popular. I keep wondering if the success of Wonder Woman is a factor, too – oh wait people WILL watch women kick ass!
I would bet chalk, money, or marbles that Wonder Woman was a factor. If WW didn’t do as well as it did I don’t think there would as much incentive from TPTB to go ahead with it. And I’m definitely excited to see some of my favorite characters actually have their stories explored.
And, maybe I’m just a jerk, but I’d like to see the whiners get made a fool of for once. Like, these were the same kind of people who moaned and complained because Bela and Ruby and Lisa and so-and-so were characters on the show. I’d just really like them to have to suck it up and realize that they’re not relevant or important anymore because it’s a different fandom. Granted, they’re never going to realize that, but it would be nice. I’d like a little schadenfreude.
