Ah but that’s the thing the whiners are *constantly* made fools of, basically the second they open their mouths, but they don’t LOOK like they’re being made fools of because they dismiss any criticism as beneath them or scream that they’re getting bullied (after they were assholes first). I tried, seriously, made a good faith effort to have an actual conversation with a Destiel anti but they’re so locked in their own mind set and so sure they’re right that they won’t

listen, and that means they argue against view points that no one actually fucking espoused in the first place, and if that doesn’t make them look like fools I don’t know what does

That’s true. I mean, that’s what happens when you spend all your time in an echo chamber where the only people you engage with confirm your biases of what the “Other” is like. 

Though, sitting in the position that I do I think there may be a touch of sealioning that’s caused at least a part of that. I have seen a lot of “well tell me why you ship this” that is followed up with “you sick freak”. Which is wrong, of course, but doesn’t excuse the really vile attitudes the most extreme people have. But I can understand the distrust that they have of anyone tries to extend an olive branch. I think it would be good for everyone to try and understand the positions of the other side in this stupid ship war, if for no other reason that they can develop a little empathy maybe? 

Of course, they’re never going to get that bullying isn’t okay regardless of what anyone has done to them in the past and they’re never going to realize they’re not as clever as they think they are. I’d be nice, but it isn’t going to happen. 

I think they might make noise for a while after the first season (hoping that happens) but I’m hopeful they’ll get bored and just stick to their own fandom.

Eh the whiners are the same dozen people who aren’t happy no matter what happens. Their opinions are irrelevant. I’m excited about WS because I want there to be a successful spin off and I’m really glad they’ve finally listened and are going to try it with characters that already exist and are already popular. I keep wondering if the success of Wonder Woman is a factor, too – oh wait people WILL watch women kick ass!

I would bet chalk, money, or marbles that Wonder Woman was a factor. If WW didn’t do as well as it did I don’t think there would as much incentive from TPTB to go ahead with it. And I’m definitely excited to see some of my favorite characters actually have their stories explored.
And, maybe I’m just a jerk, but I’d like to see the whiners get made a fool of for once. Like, these were the same kind of people who moaned and complained because Bela and Ruby and Lisa and so-and-so were characters on the show. I’d just really like them to have to suck it up and realize that they’re not relevant or important anymore because it’s a different fandom. Granted, they’re never going to realize that, but it would be nice. I’d like a little schadenfreude.

If a person couldn’t decide which ship they wanted to write a crack piece for and decided to do a chose your own smut-venture style fic, how should they go about it?

Do they post two separate fic with the same title and opening scene and different ships or should they do a fic w/three chapters? (2 and 3 being the different ships, of course.)

I guess I should mention the ships are destiel and wincest. I think that might change things….
I mean, obvs I’d put it in authors notes that it’s up to the reader what the fic is but I have a feeling some people might not touch the fic b/c of the tags. But 2 fics with the same title could also confuse people….

But yeah, I’ve been thinking about trying something like that since @pherryt did the choose your own adventure ficlet series. It could be a hell of a lot of fun! I used to love those books when I was a kid!

I could try it either way, really. I just don’t know which would be better. I guess I could just wait for a consensus on the matter b/c it’s tied rn. There’s merits and drawbacks to both….

I totally touched the cacti. I also put a staple in my palm because I was curious to see if I could. And I could. And it hurt. And I got all upset about it. So I was also a stupid kid. I think everyone was a stupid kid.

I also had the time when I was three or four and my brother told me the gum I’d found in a drawer was food so I literally chewed and swallowed like two entire packs of gum. My parents didn’t even find out about that until a couple years back, since they weren’t in the room when it happened.

Yeah, so we were all probably dumb kids at one point or another. The gum thing is kinda funny, though. Also, ow! Staples!
I’ve just evolved from dumb kid who accidentally does things that hurt herself to clumsy adult who accidentally does things that hurt herself.

But that is exactly how the cacti get you. They look soft and/or fuzzy and you’re just a kid who sees a fuzzy plant so you’re like “I’m gonna touch it” and you grandpa is like “It’s gonna hurt” and you’re like “but it’s soft!” So you touch it, like a dumbass, and it hurts like hell and your fingers sting for the next five hours because cacti are mean and they don’t care.

lol. It’s funny to me because it’s actually, legitimately writing inspiration. I’m actually hoping I’ll get the fic done this week and it’s definitely going to involve dick shaped cacti and some kind of plant fucking. (But I’m probably not actually gonna put a cactus in anyone’s ass… at least not unpeeled…)(and it’s djc)

I’d ask how many you got to but I worry the number will be depressingly small.
Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s abysmal. I’m not gonna get too negative but it’s probably the easiest fix in a string of issues the whole thing has. I don’t know what it is completely but there is something about the universe that I really do enjoy. And the main characters won me over. But I’ve completely abandoned shows for less so who knows? Maybe it’s the community I’ve created and the work we all create together. But the issue with so few characters of color is a big one and one that really doesn’t need to be the problem it is.
