You know, sometimes I do legitimately forget my preferred writing style was to ruin the lives of fictional characters. But then, of course, wonderful opportunities like this arrive and I think to myself “If Sam had the opportunity to bring back him mom at the cost of a few fingers, would he do it?” And I then say to myself “What could I get Dean to do and how many lines would he cross if innocent lives were on the line?” And I remember how much I enjoy pushing characters close to the edge.

@trisscar368 replied to your post “Do you think Gordon and Kubrik had a Thing? The way Gordon holds…”

… given the amount of religious paraphernalia and the anti-gay subtext around his interactions with Sam, not a Thing sort of thing? I can’t see him as anything but Straight™

Well, if we’re going with queer subtext that surrounds his interactions with Sam (and Dean lbr) and the way he just let himself be a terrible person when he got the chance, what do you think about a read of Gordon as repressed?

Screenshoting because I think this is important.

Like, it will always and forever blow my mind that darkfic is condemned for existing.

I am a huge horror fan. I always have been. Recently, I found out an 8th Saw film is coming out. The Saw series is basically gratuitous violence and only serves to add gore and torture to the horror genre after the second movie. And I love it. I love bloody, gross, sadistic horror films. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I want to be scared and grossed out. Maybe it’s a desire to dare myself. Maybe I’m a sadist. I dunno what it is but I love those movies. Some people think that’s sick but it is what it is. I’m not gpnna go out and kill people because I love those ridiculous, nonsense movies.

Darkfic is like that, I think. Everyone who enjoys it has their own reasons. Some are “deeper” than others. But I think as a concept it exists for the same reasons horror movies exist. Sone of us get something out of them, whether it be catharsis, entertainment, fear, whatever. It’s important for some people. It’s okay.

But to think it’s not or that it doesn’t “count” for some dumb reason really worries me. I’d really like to understand why dark media is not supposed to exist in the minds of some people.

It’s funny, but it does! I have several cousins that are adopted. My great aunt and uncle are in their 70s and are still foster parents. And my mom’s step-siblings are all also adopted. It’s just a normal part of my family. Which is cool to me.
@trisscar368 also suggested Ent, which I also like. Par or Ent sound nice, I think. I mean, obviously “parent” is an alternative to mom or dad, but par is short and easy the way mom and dad are. Probably easier for young ones to say than “ren”, too.

Imo, Bad Boys could be debatable but given that 1) we know Dean lies and 2) the whole episode is about how shitty John was and how happier Dean is without him, I don’t think we’re supposed to believe a werewolf did it.

Dark Side of the Moon, though, yeah. I’m of the opinion that whatever happened was deeply traumatizing but I don’t think it has to be physical. Mental abuse can do the same thing. But I don’t discount it. Maybe it was both. But yeah. That look. *shudders* A+ acting though.

… yep you’re going to fit in in meta club just fine. The room was named “the John Winchester Hate Club” for like… two months straight >.> complete with a glorious “fuck john winchester” picture

lol. Yeah, I’m gonna fit right in.

I’ve always said I have sympathy for John Winchester the man but not John Winchester the father, and I stand by that. He was in a shit situation, but I think he was a crap dad.
