Just so everyone knows, I will be doing another Halloween fic challenge thing this year. The prompts and information will be up on the first of September! We’re looking at about 30 prompts this year. 🙂 Open to all ships and any fandom you want. 

So. Plan for the next few days is to write! 

I have a few prompts in my askbox and some bingo squares I’d like to get finished over the next few days, just to play around and enjoy writing again. I’ve got things down the line I want to focus on, but I need to play a bit first. 

If you’d like to send me a prompt from a list of sentence starters, you can! Here’s the starters. If you want a specific ship, just let me know. 

If you want to suggest something for the Bad Things Happen Bingo, here’s my card! (Bleeding Through the Bandages, Communication Suddenly Cut Off, Bound and Gagged, and Fantastic Racism are already spoken for.) Keep in mind I might not go with it, but if I do I’ll tag you. 🙂 

A Different Kind of Self Promotion

So, I’ve been thinking (dangerous, I know) but in the spirit of reader engagement, I’d like to try something a little different with my self-promotion this go round. 

Instead of just giving details about the fic and maybe a graphic, I’m going to give a little extra. I’m going to be doing the usual, but I’m also going to create posts in which I reveal some of my thought processes behind certain aspects of different fics, some of my favorite lines and jokes, scenes I cut, that kind of thing. 

If you’ve read my stuff and are curious about any of these things (or other things, I’m open to “why the hell did you do that?” questions) feel free to ask. I won’t answer the ask, but I will include it in the post when I promote the fic. And you can get personal if you want! I’ve said before that a lot of what I write is reflective, in some way, of who I am so if you want to know how a fic is self-reflective, go ahead and ask. You could ask about why I chose certain ships, why I put certain characters in the roles I did, what I wished I did differently, basically anything. You could also ask for my notes because I do keep those around, too. Also, if you’re interested about a WIP, you can ask about those, too. 

Also, if you’re a writer and you want to take this opportunity to do the same thing, go for it! (Also, tag me.) I just want to take the opportunity to share some of the writing process. Artists can show their work in livestreams or time lapses, but writing is a lot harder to do those things with. But that doesn’t mean that what writing isn’t a very involved process, and I would like to share that process

I’ve decided I’m going to make a week out of this. You all are welcome to do the same if you’d like. But this is what I’m going to do

Monday, August 21st: FanFic Writer’s Appreciation Day – I’ll be giving a rec list of some of my favorite lesser known fanfics. (Multiple rec lists, actually) 
Tuesday, August 22nd: I’ll be talking about Under the Surface, my destiel pirate AU.
Wednesday, August 23rd: I’ll be talking about Learning Curve, my sastiel A/B/O AU. I’ll also be talking about the current formation of my personal A/B/O verse and how I personally write A/B/O.
Thursday, August 24th: I’ll be talking about Some Things Last, my deanjimstiel fic.
Friday, August 25th: I’ll be talking about my wips The Dragon’s Keep (wincest), Sex Like it’s a Competition (destiel), Look Who’s Talking 4: Revenge of the Penis (choose your own ship) and Peacemaker (winjimstiel). 
Saturday, August 26th: I’ll be talking rare pairs and polyships. In addition to the fics I’ve written, I might talk about some of the ones I want to write (totally not to gage interest or anything) 
Sunday, August 27th: Free for all. I have no idea yet, but that’s what makes it fun, right?

I still have no idea what to do for my 400 follower thing. I guess I could do really super short 500 words or fewer fics? It’s not super special (and the last time I tried that I totally fucked it) but…idk what to do?

I wanna do something fun and interactive though. I wanna get to know you guys and mess around. I just have no idea how to do that or to reach out to some of my shyer followers.

What is that writing challenge? I’ve seen a few people do those before but I’ve never seen the Disney one. Maybe I could do that for a bigger number though.

Ok! So I finally have some icons done for Pride Month! I’ve got Dean, Sam, Cas, Mary, Donna, Claire, Ketch, and Meg done.
I will be doing Eileen, Jody, Balthazar, and Hannah.

Also I’m doing Billie, Alex, Abaddon and whoever else I can think of. If you have a suggestion, I’d be totally open to those! 🙂
