Little, not so friendly reminder that 12×22 didn’t solve any of the big problems and little Lord Bevelle(-Ketch (lbr here, he’s totally Ketch’s)) is now an orphan and will be raised by the BMoL to be as vicious and immoral as his parents, if he doesn’t die before he’s old enough to drink.
So let me get this straight: the BMoL was willing to kill every American hunter because one of their little jerks got killed accidentally and 2/3 of the Winchesters weren’t playing by their rules.
BUT the entire base of BMoL operatives was wiped out including a senior member and both people in the running for head of the reformed American branch and they’re…just not going to retaliate..??? The “kill all monster forever and shoe now mercy” people? The “recruit orphans and make children kill each other to prove their worth” people? Are going to retaliate?
@rosemoonweaver – I’d been wondering this too. And it would make sense for them to retaliate. This isn’t the Stynes, where it was pretty clear that Dean wiped out 99% of them. No, the BMOL was a group with the majority of it’s resources still back in the UK.
Whatever win Sam and co. achieved it is temporary. There’s a whole load of assholes, who don’t even need to deal with regular airport security, just an international flight away.
But yeah, it’s questionable why this obvious point was not pointed out. Sam isn’t that stupid.
And the Stynes were only in like three episodes. They might’ve figured they weren’t going to work, which, okay sure, that’s fine, but the BMoL stuck around for an entire season. They were the big bad for all intents and purposes
Sam definitely isn’t that stupid…but the writers….
Like, I think what really bothers me is that there was a clear way to keep the BMoL out of the Winchester’s hair and keep them from being a threat and that was converting an inside man. (I know, I know, I’m biased. I liked Ketch and I liked Mick – if a little less than Ketch but whatever.) The big issue is that you either have to wipe every single last BMoL operative out or find someone to reform the entire system or you still have the same problem. These people are dangerous to every monster and every human and just because they left America alone doesn’t mean they’re not gonna try again or try with France or Germany or somewhere else. They could easily retaliate and come in much faster and harder than they did last time and the Winchesters might not have a way to find out where they’re set up or how many there are this time…
Or it becomes a big fat mess of wasted potential and is never brought up again.

Jody Mills is probably one of my favorite female characters. She’s tough, smart, and kind even though she’s been through a lot of crap. Jody is an awesome character, and here are some reasons to love and appreciate Jody Mills.
She’s a badass sheriff.
Her son died, then was resurrected then turned into a zombie and ate her husband. Despite that terrible event, she has opened her heart to the possibility of love with another person several times, and has taken in two girls.
She’s super frank and speaks her mind often.
She was the first one to alert Bobby, Sam, and Dean that the Leviathans had taken human form (even if she didn’t know they were Leviathans at first).
She shut own Doug and called him out on fatshaming.
She’s really open about having conversatios about safe sex. (And at the dinner table, no less.)
She’s a hunter in her own right but also holds down a job as the sheriff of Soux Falls. She’s also covered for hunters in the past.
She once stabbed a goddess with a stake she pulled out of her own chest.
She went on a blind date with Crowley. She nearly died but she was saved.
She’s funny.
She’s supportive and want to keep communication open with both her adopted daughters and her friends.
She wants the best for Alex and Claire and has tried to encourage them to have normal lives.
She held her own against a brainwashed Mary and subdued her with Alex’s help.
She shot Dr. Hess right in the head.
She’s tough but compassionate. She sets boundaries but she is willing and able to meet Sam, Dean, Alex, and Claire with love, understanding, and acceptance.
Despite being only three years older than Dean she still “moms” him and Sam from time to time (and it’s great).
Jody Mills is one of the best minor characters spn has. She’s tough but compassionate, badass and comforting, bold and fun. She’s complex and hunting doesn’t define her life. She’s a good person with a great heart.
Okay when I saw the mixtape scene I immediately thought of the hands in the Creation of Adam mural. I don’t have a tumblr but I thought this was too beautiful to keep to myself. The divine and humanity reaching to one another, bound by something as soul-moving and worshipful as music. I feel the mixtape was Dean giving Cas his heart, because music, especially in relation to Dean, has been the heartbeat of the show. Please feel free to share or just enjoy. I love your account.
Wow Nonny you read my mind! Also reminded me of Cas’s hand in 12×12 in the truck listening to the Bible Channel…. it’s very interesting and consistent imagery.
Here: The righteous man and the fallen angel. When so soon after Cas gets faith in something else where he only ever really had faith in Dean since s4 and even then sometimes it’s been sketchy….
the best part for me, in that scene between Dean and Mary, was Dean asking Mary, begging Mary to ‘see him’. to turn around and SEE Dean. the way he repeated it was heartbreaking. that need for someone, for one of his parents to please, look him and see not the hunter, not the bigbrother/substitute parent, not the little child Mary misses and remembers, not the role he has in the family, in the universe– just look at him and see, simply, Dean.
