Character ask thingie – Rey!

Yesssss!

Why I like them: She takes absolutely no shit from anyone. Like, one of my favorite things about her is that she just doesn’t give a shit who she’s talking to, she will fucking throw down if need be. She does not like to be lied to. She’s compassionate. She’s strong but not because she can swing a stick really hard, because she’s got mental fortitude. She cries openly. She gets angry and shows it. She’s blunt and honest. She’s hurt and she’s lonely. She’s competent. She feels human.
Why I don’t: I don’t know, honestly. There’s a lot I do like about her, even her impulsiveness, her indignation, her recklessness. All those things make a great and layered character.
I guess if I had to say one thing, it’s that she was a bit too trigger happy. Like, she shoots first, asks later. I think that’s probably gone b/c character development, but that’s probably my biggest issue with her character.
Also, the three buns. So glad those are gone.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The Praetorian Guard fight. Like, fuck yes. She’s like a lioness, roaring and waving her saber around and I’m here. for. it.
Favorite season/movie: The Last Jedi. I didn’t feel like I got to know her much in TFA so getting to know more about her was awesome.
Favorite line: I know it’s not profound or anything, but her “I’ve seen your daily routine; you are not busy,” to Luke kills me every time.
Favorite outfit: The grey robes she wears on the Supremacy.
OTP: Reylo
Brotp: Rey and Finn 🙂
Head Canon: So, it’s canon she has dreams and visions and it’s implied that she has dreams and visions because she’s really important to The Force and all but my headcanon is that she’s important to The Force because she’s potentially the source of Enlightenment for all beings. Enlightenment meaning what The Force really is and what it’s all about.
Unpopular opinion: Hmmm. Rey’s not a cinnamon roll. Yes, she’s nice and compassionate and kind, but she’s not perfect and I don’t want her to be. She’s not “pure” and she’s not all good, and she’s not all light side either. I don’t like painting her as such, because that misses so much of what’s so great about her character. She’s not a baby or someone that needs protection. She’s got a warrior’s heart.
A wish: I really, really want her to get what she wants, which is a family and belonging. That’s all I want for her.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: If she winds up dead and/or alone I’ll fucking riot. (Not really, but I’ll sulk a lot about it.)
5 words to best describe them: fierce, patient, competent, compassionate, lonely
My nickname for them: It’s just Rey, basically.

Thanks!

Character thingy!

Although I can already tell my muse is a traitor and wants to do more wincest bb

Bad muse! Bad!
(It’s okay I’m in the same boat but with other stuff)

Made up fic title: Witching Hour

I’ve written a few lighter witch AUs recently so I think I’m gonna go darker with this one.

Setting: New England forest. Vague time period but definitely not the 21st century.

Rey runs away from home and her abusive uncle and gets lost in the woods. She’s cold, starving, and frightened when she runs across what looks like and abandoned bonfire. The coals are still hot so she gathers up some nearby kindling and a few logs and starts herself a small fine. Suddenly, from the shadows, a man approaches. She’s terrified but all he does is talk to her. He knows a lot about her, apparently, and it’s unnerving. Still, she can’t help but feel compelled to listen and to speak when he asks her questions. She finds herself pouring out her life story before she can stop herself. He offers her a deal; she’ll find her way out of the woods, and she’ll never be at the mercy of any human being ever again. She’ll never be powerless ever again. All he asks of her is a single kiss. It’s odd, but she accepts.

Rey then wakes up just outside the woods and things start to get… weird. Things she’s wanted but never dared hope for just start to happen. Her uncle drops dead and leaves the house to her. A great job practically falls in her lap. Other people just sort of bend to her will. It’s odd, but it’s kind of nice! At least, until that shadowy man shows up again and starts making demands.

Maybe she should’ve been more wary before charging off into the woods, before burning god knows what over an open flame, before kissing a strange man in the middle of the night. Maybe then she wouldn’t be in service to the devil himself.

Send me a title, I’ll tell you what I’d write!
