5 and 25?

5: Talk about the best birthday you’ve had.
Hmmm. I don’t actually do much for my birthdays, honestly. We kinda do the same thing every year, meaning that I get Starbucks, I have lasagne and cheesecake for desert and then fall into a food coma while watching TV.

When I was younger, I used to have Halloween parties after my birthday (because my birthday is in September but I will seriously wait a whole month just to invite a ton of people over for Halloween).

Oh! Okay, here’s one. This is also my most embarrassing drunk story (which should say something about how often I actually drink). Okay, so for my 22nd birthday a couple of my friends decided to take me out because I was the oldest of that group and they’d all recently turned 21. So, we start by going to my friend’s sister’s place (this girl I’ve ever met), right and that’s when I find out my friend (who I am very attracted to) is an identical twin. (Yeah, I’m sure some of you know where this is going…)

Anyway, we all go out, by bestie learns that she hates cinnamon whiskey, we all get pleasantly tipsy. So, me being the idiot that I am, I start hitting on my friend, who doesn’t know I’m bi, so she just kinda laughs it off and tells me I need to drink more water. Then I start hitting on my friend’s twin, who has a girlfriend. And somehow, somewhere along the way I’m hitting on them both at the same time. They turned me down, of course, and I looked like an idiot and I laugh it off as me not knowing what I was thinking or saying so there was no harm, no foul. I did eventually tell my friend I was bi and she never brought up the time I insinuated I wanted to sleep with her and her sister, so she either forgot or pretended to forget and we have never spoken about it since. So, not by “best” birthday but certainly one of the most memorable.

25: Talk about an ex-best friend.
I have a friend who isn’t my best friend anymore but we’re still good friends. We were co-captains of the debate team in high school, student government leaders, AP kids (but also kind of underachievers in an odd way. Like, we did homework and aced tests and essays but we never did them before last minute and felt C’s were fine on homework and stuff). She moved away for college and is trying to get into law school right now. She’s a bad ass, too. (She’s like 6 feet tall, wears heels and can run in them and knows Krav Maga.)

Talk about things with me!

#3 and 11

3. What is your absolute favorite kind of fic to write?
I really like writing things with character growth. I know that’s kind of vague, but I really like to write stories in which characters change and become someone totally different from the person they were in the beginning and in a way that’s both huge but doesn’t seem huge. I like writing characters who can do or say things that they would have never done in the beginning of the fic. It’s just very satisfying to me.

11. Weirdest thing you’ve ever written/thought about writing/etc.?
Weirdest thing I’ve ever written was probably that short fic about the dude running through the city in his underwear that I posted a few weeks ago. It was odd.

In terms of things I’d like to write, I’m not really sure. I usually write really normal stuff. I am excited about finishing my big projects so I can get to my serial killer AU, which I’m hoping will be part dark comedy and part bloodbath, and that’s going to be much different than what I’ve done before. (It’s weird for me, I suppose.)

18 & 19!

18. How old were you when you started writing?
Six or seven, I think? I’m not exaggerating, either, I was trying to write stories ever since I could actually spell real words. It’s always been very important to me. In terms of writing “real” stories that didn’t happen until I was sixteen, and I wasn’t writing fanfiction until I was twenty.

19. Why do you write?
Writing is one thing that’s always given me fulfillment and meaning.  I have too many things in my head, too many ideas and images and characters to just waste them by not sharing them. If I don’t share those with other people I don’t know what good they’d be, honestly. I could keep them to myself I guess, but it seems like a benefit to everyone if I shared them.
