Salty Fandom – 5, 6, 20?

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
Not a pairing, no. I tend to ignore most people who run spread their crap but I have to admit there certain trends in certain ships that drive me insane. Like, the way Balthazar and Meg and Jo are treated in some Destiel fics drives me nuts. I tend to go the opposite way, however, and ship those pairings harder when I see Meg or Balth or Jo treated as the asshole ex.
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
I haven’t ever *hated* a ship but fandom has definitely made me fonder of Wincest. I think a lot of that has to do with becoming friends with people who ship it getting away from the small minority of assholes who are vicious about their ship and their interpretation of canon events. Early run-ins with those kinds of jerks doesn’t do good things for anyone, but I’m glad I made friends with nicer people.
20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?
“Pure” is a big ol’ loaded term for me. Like, nothing in this fandom is “pure”. This is a show about professional murderers who just happen to be on the right side of the equation 92% of the time.
All that aside, though, Saileen is a very good and sweet ship imo. Sam and Eileen are both badasses but they can be super sweet together and I enjoy that.

I adore femslash, honestly. There’s not nearly enough of it in the fandom, which I get to some degree because of lack of lasting female characters, but I really wish there was more.

I love women and I love female characters, so it just seems natural to me to want more ladies who love ladies in fanfic. Also, if you want to see a specific pairing you can always let me know. I’m not taking prompts atm but I do the rare pair challenge every month so I’m always willing to write femslash. I have two short f/f works coming out this month and I’ve got one scheduled for next month, too. Anna/Ruby, Meg/Abaddon, and Donna/Jody are on the menu for these next two months but I don’t have anything planned for July yet.

Ship that is taboo:
lol. All my favorite ones, basically. I love Deanjimstiel. Hardcore, highkey favorite polyship. It’s always fun to play with those three. I think it really speaks to something in me – like this way I feel fractured in some sense – to have Cas and Jimmy come together and love each other and someone else. It’s harmonious, to me.
Ship that is unpopular but you still like:
Most rare pairs are kinda unpopular, but I’m gonna go Mary/Ketch here. I know lots of people *hate* Ketch, (and with good reason, of course, I won’t deny that he’s a bad guy) but I kind of… am okay with it? Like, I didn’t mind it when it happened on screen. (Maybe because I was expecting coercion or something but it turned out to not be that at all.) I won’t get too much into it, but I don’t get why it was so hated when it happened. And I think it could be interesting in and AU. Basically, I have no idea why this happens, but I do tend to get a huge soft spot for the worst villains. I love me a good bad guy, so shipping the bad guy with everyone is totally something I do. Of course, that means me and a total of five other people ship the thing, but that’s fine with me.

I’ll be honest, I have no idea what “curious” means in this context but I’m going to use this opportunity to try and get other people to consider some ships with great potential to be all kinds of dark or bad-dirty-wrong I’ve you’re into that.
Abaddon/Dean/Ketch.
Like, just think about this, especially if Dean’s a demon. This is the kind of ship you can do anything with, especially if you wanna get into totally unsafe kinks. Suspension bondage with flesh hooks, gagging, choking, electricity, body modification, people getting thrown up against a wall, drawing blood and leaving big ass welts, scarification, all the totally unsafe and not sane practices of BDSM you can think of. Murder parties, orgies, any dark and depraved thing you could think of – the sky is the limit here. I’m very intrigued.
Ship that needs more love:
All of the femslash. Meg/Ruby comes to mind.
Calthazar needs more love, too. That’s a great ship for loyalty and love.
There are more, of course, I’d be tempted to say all rare ships need more love, but those are just the two that pop off the top of my head.

Ship that you find most sexy:
That’s a tough one. My gut says Megstiel, though, because holy crap. Like, Meg was super fun and she kinda pulls this secret sexy side out of Cas and I’m definitely 100% for that. They’re definitely up there on my list of sexiest ships.
Ship that pisses you off:
You know, I don’t really get that worked up about ships too often. Like, most of them I’m either okay with or I just ignore completely (if I don’t like them). I think, if I’m honest, it’s more the way ships are treated in a lot of fanfic that pisses me off. Like, I’m not a huge fan of Dean/Lisa or Dean/Jo, but I get frustrated at the way these ladies are portrayed in fanfic a lot so in those cases they piss me off. Same with Cas/Balthazar, and Cas/Meg (even though I really fricken love those ships. They’re wonderful when done the way I like, but not so great 95% of the time as a past ship.) Sam/Gabe is one I haven’t ever been able to “get” but it doesn’t piss me off as much as annoys me at times.
Ship that you secretly like:
Woah, boy. lol. I mean, is it really a secret at this point that I like Wincest?I mean, it doesn’t often make an appearance on this blog but if everyone’s paying attention it’s pretty easy to figure out. But I suppose it would be my “secret” ship.

lol. No worries. I don’t usually do genderbending stuff. I’m more comfortable with doing trans MtF or FtM or genderqueer characters. If you’re into that, I am trying to finish a DCJ fic with genderfluid!Cas.

18: Talk about something that happened in elementary school.
I had my first panic attack in elementary school. I was seven at the time and my teacher (the adult in the situation, mind) told me to knock it off and threatened to hit me if I didn’t stop crying. Eventually, when I finally told my mom and she got the principal involved, this teacher had the audacity to say that she’d done the right thing, because if I was going to start throwing a fit in her class I needed a little tough love. She was so fired after that.

Of course, I was seven and didn’t have the words to describe what I had been going through so while the terrible teacher was fired no one ever thought that I might need to see a therapist or a counselor or something like that.

36: Talk about your guilty pleasures.
Does fan fic count? I dunno, I don’t have a lot of “guilty” pleasures or indulgences, but the usual ones are on my list. Chocolate, overpriced coffee drinks, goldfish crackers, stuff like that are probably on my list.

8: Talk about the thing you are most proud of.
I already answered this one, but I’m gonna say another thing. I just recently put some finishing touches on my DCJ BB and it’s the longest thing I’ve ever written. I’m so proud of myself for accomplishing it and writing 60k of it in just a few months. I’m really freaking excited about posting it.

35: Talk about things you wish you could stop doing.
Stressing myself out. I’m an anxious person as it is, so it just takes a couple of little things or one big thing to turn me into a ball of stress. I hate it, but I don’t seem to know what “balance” means.

9: Talk about little things on your body that you like the most.
My eyes. I love my eyes. They’re a really pretty brown but I’ve got that gold ring around the pupil sometimes. It’s a lot more noticeable in the light, though. Also, my eyelashes are really long and I like that, too.

34: Talk about the worst physical pain you’ve endured.
I have PCOS so my periods are the worst. There were times when I couldn’t sleep and would just stay up all night crying. I’ve broken bones, had concussions, and accidentally split my foot open before, but my periods are far worse than anything else.

This is a hard one because honestly, I don’t really have a lot that I’m really proud of at this point in my life. I think, if I had to pick something I’d guess I’d say that I’m proud I’m trying to be more myself. For most of my life I’ve repressed and ignored things about myself in favor of what I think I “should” do, so now that I’m trying

11: Talk about the best dream you’ve ever had.
I have no idea. I don’t usually remember my dreams too often. I dream about dinosaurs eating everyone a whole lot, though. I dunno what the hell that means though.
