You know, the tie wasn’t backwards in all of S4. In fact it was messed up after Dean and Cass’ misadventures at that brothel. So the backwards tie seems to be Cass’ thing than Jimmy’s. :)

This is a nitpick but I’ll let it stand.

Fine. Cas’s tie wasn’t backwards until season 5. Jimmy was still wearing his tie really wrong in Lazarus Rising, so it’s easy to get confused. It’s not backwards, just horrible.

(x) Ties aren’t supposed to go past your belt, Jimmy.

Regardless, that wasn’t even the point of my comments about Jimmy being a mess. I’m assuming, anon, you were referring to my comments about Claire fixing Cas’s tie and not my dcj flailings about how they’re both shit dressers? B/c if this was about the Cas and Claire post the point is that when Claire was preforming a domestic action for Cas it was meant to invoke the third person who wasn’t really there. The point is less about the tie and more about the fact that when Claire says “now you look like a dad,” she’s probably thinking of her dad who Cas obviously looks like but will never be. The point is that it dressing him up like her father, the way her mother probably did when she actually had a normal family, Claire invokes Jimmy’s ghost and all the baggage that goes with it. The tie really doesn’t matter that much.

I’m on my phone, so I can’t copy 500 words of text… But the ending of Trigger Happy. “Wouldn’t you like to know.” I’m curious what the point was of making Sam so mysterious after the fact. I’m pretty firmly in the “it was loaded” camp and it was kinda annoying that he wouldn’t say one way or another when it was all said and done. Then again, he’s a killer, so maybe I’m expecting too much from him. ;)

Here’s a little snippet of the end of Trigger Happy for those who are curious:

Jimmy rolled his eyes. Well, Sam did say get him back. He really should have asked for clarification. “And could you put that goddamn thing down please?”

Sam rolled his eyes and set the gun on the bed. Jimmy sighed, pulling himself up on his feet. His knees popped. Great. He was gonna be sore for a while. “By the way,” Jimmy said, making his way to the bathroom. He needed a hot shower to relax his muscles and take care of his fear boner, “that thing wasn’t loaded, was it?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know.”

I waffled so much on the “is it loaded, is it not loaded” thing. I almost had Jimmy pick it up and pull the trigger (aiming at the wall, for course) but that’s stupid and dangerous and while these guys are killers I can’t see them firing a weapon in a motel room. That’s shit that gets you caught.

In the end, I kinda wanted it to be up to the reader. I think the doubt and the thought that yeah, that gun could’ve been loaded and Sam could’ve pulled the trigger either on purpose or on accident makes the whole thing more frightening than if I told you whether it was or wasn’t. It’s the unsettling horror of “maybe” after all is said and done. I would hope that readers would come away wondering and then come to their own conclusions. Is Sam the kind of person to pull a loaded gun on a lover or was it just a fear tactic? Was Jimmy in real danger? What are the implications of it either way?

Ultimately, I know what I was thinking when I wrote it, but I’m not too keen on telling anyone how to read it. It’s open to interpretation. I will say, though, that the fact that Sam wasn’t going to tell Jimmy whether or not the gun was loaded probably has something to do with the downright sadistic streak he has in this AU.

Thanks!

5 and 13 for fanfic asks :)

5. What’s a crackship you love?

I have sooo many. Meg/Balthazar (he’s showing up a lot today lol). I think these two would be the king and queen of “playfully insulting your partner so much the insults become endearments”. Also, I love them.

13. Exes or established relationship?

This one depends. Established relationships work if there’s the possibility for polyamory to happen but if it’s just two people I’d rather have exes. I like the possibility of second chances.

…. also both could be good. We could have a situation where one character is a in an established relationship and suddenly their ex shows up and suddenly there’s drama. And it would end with polyamory.
(But I’m sure that scenario is totally not familiar to anyone and most certainly not you or me. Neither of us would know anything about that, right? 😉 )

Thanks!

1 and 2!

1. If you’re an author, how many WIPs do you currently have? (Be honest!)

Oh god. Uhhhh…. I think it’s nine? Nine sounds about right. Only one is posted.

2. What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise)

My reading list is highly dependent on how I’m feeling. I have some that are marked for when I want something dark and some that are marked for when I want fluffy and some for when I want something more comfortable but not too comfortable. I honestly don’t know what I’m going to read next, it just depends on how I’m feeling when I decide to read.

Thanks!

Fanfic asks! #5, and also #8-13 (since they’re all basically the same yes-or-no question). ^__^

5. What’s a crackship you love?

Because I have a giant pile of these, I’m gonna say Bela/Balthazar for this one. They could get into all kinds of trouble together.

8. Bed sharing or roommates AU?

Bed sharing, but especially if the person who wakes up first has a freak-out about it and falls out of bed.

9. Fake dating or arranged marriage?

Fake dating is great because of all the pining, but arranged marriages are great b/c of the whole “learning to love this stranger” thing (and the fact that arranged marriages are usually found in fantasy and nobility AUs and I love those).

But I think I’ll go with fake dating, because I love the way that fake dating is always like “I’m in love with them and maybe this will be my only chance to know what it would be like”.

10. Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?

Enemies to friends to loves. Hands down one of my favorite tropes.

11. Kid fic or childhood friends?

If it’s done well and the characters feel like children I like kid fic better. But I’m super picky about it.

12. Friends with benefits or secret dating?

Friends with Benefits. Secret dating is fun and all but friends with benefits is better.

13. Exes or established relationship?

This one depends. Established relationships work if there’s the possibility for polyamory to happen but if it’s just two people I’d rather have exes. I like the possibility of second chances.

Thanks!

6 and 20?

6. What’s the last thing you read that made you laugh?

Diner Death Match: French Fries Are The Ultimate Victor

It’s a short fic and it made me laugh. Particularly this line:

Castiel took one of Sam’s fries, and Sam let him, the traitor, like an angel with his refutations of “gender essentialism” and shit was more worthy than his own brother.

20. Do you have a favorite fanfic or author? If so, tag them/post a link and share the love!

Oh, man I hate these questions. I always feel like I’m going to miss someone (and I am) b/c I love so many different fics and authors. I’ll mention someone I haven’t mentioned before.

@jemariel recently wrote a destiel fic called Lazarus Writing that is freaking amazing. I seriously love this fic. It’s funny as fuck, there’s some freaking good moral turmoil and I love the ending for a few reasons. It’s a good fic and I strongly recommend it.

Thanks!

5, 15!

5. What’s a crackship you love?

Oh, man I have so many crackships. In the traditional sense of “pairing I like just because” I would have to say Dean/Ketch is high up there. In terms of “this pairing has the potential to get ridiculous” it would be Jimmy/Balthazar.

15. Post the last line you wrote without context.

She yawns, stretching her arms high over her head so her shirt rides up and exposes her belly button.

Thanks!
