Sam’s the werewolf and Cas is the hunter. Cas is investigating the string of  “animal attacks” in a small town in Northern California where Sam works at Bobby’s shop three days a week. The twist is that everyone in the town knows Sam’s a werewolf and he’s not the thing attacking people.

Cas is the mermaid, Sam is the fisherman who winds up on a deserted island, mysteriously safe from a shipwreck.
who’s the witch and who’s the familiar
Sam is the witch and Cas is his blue bird familiar.

Sam’s the barista and Cas is the cute coffee addict who’s only barely half-awake when he comes in and his no idea Sam’s even interested. 
who’s the professor and who’s the TA
They’re both professors. Sam is the History professor and Cas is the Religious Studies professor. They’re working together on a paper on the history of magic and it’s intersection with religion. 
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)
Cas is the knight, Sam’s the prince. 
who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent
Both are a single parent and teacher. His daughter is in the same class as Sam’s son. They don’t even meet until Jack and Claire both get in trouble for fighting (not against each other, they were fighting together) and they have to stay after work to sort it out. 
who’s the writer and who’s the editor
Cas is a frazzled writer and Sam really wants him to take a freaking break every once in a while because he’s driving Sam nuts.

Rey is a hunter trying to both track down and kill the werewolf Kylo Ren and figure out how to get the attention of Ben Solo, the shy hermit who lives on his family’s farm on the village outskirts. 
who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman
Rey is the mermaid and Ben’s the fisherman who accidentally caught her in his net. 
who’s the witch and who’s the familiar
Rey’s a witch who doesn’t know it get and Ben’s her familiar who wishes she’d just stop trying to throw things at him because yes, he realizes he’s randomly naked in her house but he’s trying to explain that he was that dog waiting for her outside her apartment and she’s got a lot of untapped power. 
who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict
Rey is the barista and Ben’s the guy who really doesn’t like half the fancy coffee drinks she suggests but she suggested them so of course he’s gonna try it. 
who’s the professor and who’s the TA
(God I’m a cliche) Ben’s the professor, Rey’s the TA. 
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)
Rey is the white knight, ready to storm the castle and save Prince Ben from the evil dragon keeping him hostage. 
who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent
Rey’s a single mom of twin girls and Ben is their teacher who’s great with kids but awkward as hell with adults. 
who’s the writer and who’s the editor
Ben’s a writer who thinks most of what he writes is crap and Rey’s his editor who helps him but down on the flowery language.
