Has anyone seen The Frighteners with Michael J. Fox? Because I love that movie and I so badly wanna do a Reylo AU for it.

I was thinking of Bound and Tide!!! But almost anything works, this is just an adorable idea all around
Oh, good! lol. I was too! I read the comment above and I just got this image of poor half-seal Ben bouncing on the shore like “Rey,” *bounce* “wait, don’t leave me like this” *bounce* “I promise I’ll apologize for biting that guy” *bounce*
Which, you know, tonally, isn’t gonna happen but I still laugh.
Still, it’s super adorable and I love it.
Yet another character ask thingie – Ben Solo (or should I call him Kylo Ren???)
Asking the real questions, now, eh? To Ben or not to Ben…
Practically everyone in the movies calls him Ben now, so it’s whatever at this point.
Now let’s see how unpopular I can be.
Why I like them: Where do I start? He’s Han and Leia’s son. He’s super OP. He’s pissed off at the world. He cries a lot. He’s lonely. He’s been targeted by a space demon since before he was born and it fucking shows. His conflict is that he feels pulled towards being a good person! Like… what kind of fucking villain…???!!!!
He’s extreme. He’s brutal. He’s a murderer. He’s blunt and honest (he very rarely lies). He’s conflicted and tortured by his own mind. His past is full of crap from near death at a young age, to public humiliation via finding out Vader was his granddad, to betrayal. He should be a perfect villain.
BUT he’s lost. He’s throwing things at the wall and what sticks is what he goes with. He shows capacity for mercy and compassion in the first scene he’s in by doing nothing about Finn’s refusal to follow orders. He has the potential for light and dark. He *can* be softer, more patient, more understanding. He can be better than he initially appears. He’s layered and fascinating and he just kills.
Why I don’t: He makes awful choices. I mean, I get why he does. He’s fucked up in a ton of different ways so poor decision making is kind of a given but dammit do I suffer when he does dumb stuff.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The hut scene in TLJ. I just love it because he only says one line “you’re not alone” and the rest of it is in his face. He looks so genuine and unsure, even to the point that his hand is shaking. You can feel the relief and the calm in that scene. And the of course the wide-eyed shock when Luke busts in. It’s a really good scene and I love that it allows him to just be compassionate.
Favorite season/movie: The Last Jedi
Favorite line: “I’m being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain.” from TFA because again, I believe this is genuine and it hurt to watch and I hate it but I think it sums up his motivations and desires really well.
Favorite outfit: That dark flowy cape, cowl, tunic, thing he had going on in TFA.
OTP: Reylo
Brotp: Ben and Finn. I think they could be good friends eventually and I want to see it so bad.
Head Canon: I think he has dreams and visions, too. I think the reason he was instantly like “What girl!” in TFA is because he’d been seeing her in his dreams and meditations for a long time and he *needed* to know who the hell she was. (It would also explain the whole “the girl I’ve heard so much about” even though… there’s like zero reason to hear anything more than “some random girl was seen with that droid we want” and why he was so fixated on finding her.) Why is also the obvious question. My headcanon is that they’re cosmically tied and have been for a lot longer than their first meeting.
Unpopular opinion: He’s not the villain. There, I said it!
He’s not the villain of the ST! Not really. He’s an anti-hero and his character arc is a redemption arc. IF he was meant to be the Big Bad he wouldn’t’ve ended his Then Let Me Be Evil moment alone, on his knees, cradling his father’s dice (symbolically representing his childhood). Emperor or no, if I am supposed to believe he’s a remorseless monster who’s finally come into his own as The Villain, he should be standing up shrouded in darkness or looking forward to evil, not with his head bowed, bathed in light.
Also, this is Star Wars. Vader got redeemed. There’s nothing you can say to me that will make me believe he’s going to die bad.
A wish: I want him to get his shit together. Just please, get your shit together, Ben. Leave the evil organization and be the person you’re being called to be.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: He just fuckin’ dies a villain, I guess. And everyone is happy about it. (Fuck that with a cactus.)
5 words to best describe them: angry, lost, conflicted, powerful, broken
My nickname for them: I called him Renjamin the other day and my brother lost it so that’s what I’ve been calling him for a while now lol.
Thanks!
Character ask thingie – Rey!
Yesssss!
Why I like them: She takes absolutely no shit from anyone. Like, one of my favorite things about her is that she just doesn’t give a shit who she’s talking to, she will fucking throw down if need be. She does not like to be lied to. She’s compassionate. She’s strong but not because she can swing a stick really hard, because she’s got mental fortitude. She cries openly. She gets angry and shows it. She’s blunt and honest. She’s hurt and she’s lonely. She’s competent. She feels human.
Why I don’t: I don’t know, honestly. There’s a lot I do like about her, even her impulsiveness, her indignation, her recklessness. All those things make a great and layered character.
I guess if I had to say one thing, it’s that she was a bit too trigger happy. Like, she shoots first, asks later. I think that’s probably gone b/c character development, but that’s probably my biggest issue with her character.
Also, the three buns. So glad those are gone.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The Praetorian Guard fight. Like, fuck yes. She’s like a lioness, roaring and waving her saber around and I’m here. for. it.
Favorite season/movie: The Last Jedi. I didn’t feel like I got to know her much in TFA so getting to know more about her was awesome.
Favorite line: I know it’s not profound or anything, but her “I’ve seen your daily routine; you are not busy,” to Luke kills me every time.
Favorite outfit: The grey robes she wears on the Supremacy.
OTP: Reylo
Brotp: Rey and Finn 🙂
Head Canon: So, it’s canon she has dreams and visions and it’s implied that she has dreams and visions because she’s really important to The Force and all but my headcanon is that she’s important to The Force because she’s potentially the source of Enlightenment for all beings. Enlightenment meaning what The Force really is and what it’s all about.
Unpopular opinion: Hmmm. Rey’s not a cinnamon roll. Yes, she’s nice and compassionate and kind, but she’s not perfect and I don’t want her to be. She’s not “pure” and she’s not all good, and she’s not all light side either. I don’t like painting her as such, because that misses so much of what’s so great about her character. She’s not a baby or someone that needs protection. She’s got a warrior’s heart.
A wish: I really, really want her to get what she wants, which is a family and belonging. That’s all I want for her.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: If she winds up dead and/or alone I’ll fucking riot. (Not really, but I’ll sulk a lot about it.)
5 words to best describe them: fierce, patient, competent, compassionate, lonely
My nickname for them: It’s just Rey, basically.
Thanks!
@wingstocarryon-replies replied to your post “@threshie replied to your post “An Announcement” Welcome to multi…”
broken boys that understand broken girls and let them be angry is my jam. it would make great fanfic 🙂
Omg, yes. It’s probably one of my favorite things about the dynamic. He gets her, her pain and anger and loneliness and all that goes with it and he lets her be as pissed off as she wants. I just love it.
Also, it does indeed make for some great fic.

Top Three Ships: Oh lord. I’m a multishipper who can never make up her mind so as of this moment right now I’m going with Reylo, Destiel, and Sastiel. Those are my faves right now. That might change next week though.
Lipstick or Chapstick: Lipstick. Chapstick annoys me most of the time.
Last song you listened to: The Ballad of Mona Lisa by Panic! At the Disco
Currently reading: Nothing at the moment. Writing is my priority right now. I’ve been snacking on fanfic in between writing sessions, though.
Last movie you watched: Dirty Dancing. It’s a guilty pleasure.

Would you ever write Reylo? If yes, AU or canon?
Yes, absolutely. And both.
Currently I have a few ideas floating in my head, one with very inappropriate use of the force and another dealing with the aftermath of Crait and all that. I may or may not have one of those open in my docs right now.
The AU idea I have has been haunting me for a few weeks. Frontier/Gunslinger AU with outlaw!Kylo and law woman!Rey. She’s hunting him down for personal reasons (don’t know what those are yet but they’re a big deal) but he’s not what she expected at all. Should be fun. Don’t wanna say too much about it because I really shouldn’t be thinking about it right now b/c I have other projects to worry about.
Ask me: would you ever write…

14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?
I’m not sure what passes as “unpopular” these days. I mean, I see a lot of people saying things like “spn isn’t a family if we’re willing to attack each other for dumb things” and “spn is full of ““”problematic””” people” and like, yeah, those are fair criticisms. (Everyone can be “”problematic””.) But I think we’re kind of the norm. Like, I’ve been poking around the Star Wars TFA fandom for a few weeks and there is literally nothing different in that fandom. Like, people are sending threats and hate over people who ship Rey and Kylo calling those shippers abusers and pedos and all kinds of shit (Kylo and Rey are both adults??? what????) and saying that no one can ship it because Rey and Kylo might be cousins and I’m like…… this is Star Wars…. Luke and Leia kissed. On screen. We were supposed to ship that until suddenly we weren’t. What????
But yeah, I do think the SPN fandom is pretty much the same as any other fandom. It’s not especially bad or toxic. It’s just another fandom. And of course, your enjoyment is dependent on who you follow, engage with, and what you do.
19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?
Fights about “canon”. Like, obviously I hate sending hate and threats, that goes without saying, but the thing I think drives me nuts is the insistence some people have that their interpretations of “canon” are the only valid interpretations. Like, the lit nerd in me just wants to bust out a lecture on literary theory and interpretation. “Canon” is what we see on screen. What it means is 100% up to us, especially because spn is such a post-modern, meta show. I can believe that Dean loves musicals based on his love of chick-flicks and whatever else, and someone else can say that he only likes Fiddler based on something he said. We can both be right. That’s the cool thing about literary interpretation. Everyone is right and no one is right. End of story.
23. Unpopular character you love?

Yeah. I love a good bad guy. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say he’s the most interesting adversary since season 5 Lucifer. (Lbr, Abaddon was fun but there was nothing but a desire for power and destruction there. Metatron was annoying. Naomi wasn’t explored enough.) I know why people don’t like him, and that’s totally justified, but he’s my favorite non-TFW member. He’s dark but I do think there’s a bit of complexity there and I’d love to know his backstory.
Thanks!
