The Novak twins had always been close. Many, including their family, attributed this to them being identical twins. They were constantly together and the mere thought of separating little Jimmy and Castiel was impossible. 

Mrs. Novak and the other ladies at church, would coo when they would witness things such as Jimmy holding Castiel’s hand in comfort or support. They would send praises to heaven at how ‘God’s loves’ shined in these two brothers when they would embrace each other.

There was much more to it than what other saw, when it came to the Novak twins.
