Hi! I started following you because of how much I love your Sex Like a Competition series! But now I have a question regarding a different fandom! So is Martha your favorite dw companion? I just rarely see her get much love! I felt the writers could have done soooo much more with her. She was so smart!

Well hello there! I’m glad you like that series!

Martha and Donna are both my favorite companions. I go back and forth day to day with who I like better but they’re pretty evenly matched most of the time.

But yes, I loooove Martha! She was so clever and compassionate and strong both in character and fortitude. I was pretty irritated with the fact that they tried to play up an unrequited crush with her and Ten though because I really didn’t see the need for it. I feel like a lot of her character was supposed to be able providing support and strength for Ten, which I think I’m alright with because for the most part, it allowed her to be more of a hero than he was a lot of the time and it allowed her to connect with other characters almost more than he did. It was almost like the roles of Doctor and companion were reversed for the two of them. I will say, however, that I did not like the whole Year That Never Was thing. Like, I’m glad she saved the day but it was really screwed up to me that no one remembers it. (Except for her family and The Doctor and all that.) I dunno, I’ll always feel like she deserved more. She’s definitely one of the most underappreciated companions if you ask me. She was just fricken awesome.

ACLU Brief on Behalf of John Oliver

wrench-wench:

Legal jargon has never been so entertaining. I started cracking up over the table of contents. Here are some of my favorite bits:

They’re savage straight from the intro

Like, the fact that Mr. Nutterbutter is even being referred to in official court documents is hilarious, but this conjecture makes it even better:

My hands down favorite part is this:

I did not put that photo comparison in there, the ACLU did. Also, even the footnotes are great.

Clearly, our ACLU donations are being well spent. The West Virginia chapter is all out of fucks to give.

If you’re wondering what all of this is about, here’s the segment that started it all:

that scene specifically the worst. Even though i look at it now and it seems really fuckin stupid

This dude scared the shit out of me and traumatized me as a little kid. It came out before I was born but watching it in the 80′s was a big NO. I didn’t listen.I mean which kid actually listens when it comes to cool Halloween movies? Uh, none. Ha ha

This guy still scares me sometimes when thinking of him when I’m in a dark place all by myself.

It’s funny too cos it’s William Shatner’s face so maybe Bill scares me? Ha ha Nah. William Shatner is awesome.

THIS SHIT SCARED THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF ME AS A KID! ITS NOT NORMAL FOR A MAN TO HAVE A GREEN FACE!

I love that on this list there’s SO MANY scary movies, but it was Wizard of Oz that traumatized me the most, and I noticed somebody up there used Dumbo, which yeah, that was traumatic for me too along with Bambi.

Horror movies? Nope, those I always loved 😀

For months after seeing Ghostbusters I would jump to my bed from like 5 feet away because I was terrified this thing was underneath it. Sill can’t look at Zuul even now!
