Bad things happen and we’ve got pictures to prove it!

badthingshappenbingo:

In response to feedback from our participants and followers, we have officially decided to add an art component to Bad Things Happen Bingo!

Although art based on the tropes and prompts will not be part of the main Bingo challenge, we’d like to give those people who want to see their favs suffer in a more visual medium a chance to share. So, we will be adding a “Gallery” tag to the blog to showcase artists!

Anyone can make art for the blog, even if they are not participating as a writer. Feel free to pick any prompt on our Trope List and give us your artistic interpretation! To make sure we can see it to reblog, be sure to tag #badthingshappenbingo or @ us on the post, and don’t forget to tag what prompt the work is for, and which fandom.

Artists have two options for art to make for the blog:

  1. Art based on filled prompts. If one of the fics written for this challenge struck a chord with you and you want to make an illustration for it, go at it! One of the Ultimate Dreams of most fic writers is to see fan art made for something they wrote, and this can be a great way for participants to interact with and support each other’s stories. Be sure to add a link to the fic you based the art on to your post!
  2. Art for inspiration. Do you have your own interpretation for how you would like to see one of the bingo prompts played out? We’d love to see it! Make that art, and we’ll put it on the blog for others to see it and maybe get inspired for a story to write!

We’re very excited to introduce this new element to the blog, and we hope you are too!

spnshortstories:

Welcome to Seasons: a Supernatural fan fiction anthology.

Here’s a super-quick recap of what you need to know about this project:

  • It’s a fanwork collection inspired by projects like @supernaturalartbook and @thedestielartbook with a focus on fan fiction.
  • It includes over 100,000 words of original short stories from nearly 100 fandom authors, put together into a physical book with 400+ pages.
  • All stories are gen and take place in SPN’s canon universe, featuring a variety of characters all throughout the show’s timeline.
  • All stories are focused on one of four seasonal themes.
  • The books will be available for purchase and paid for via a Kickstarter campaign once they’re fully assembled.
  • All proceeds beyond production + shipping costs will be split evenly between the IMAlive crisis support network and the Archive of Our Own.

We’re just wrapping up after our final writing deadline, and now’s the time when reader interest- your interest- matters. Everyone involved in this project has been working for weeks now to pour their very best efforts into making it as successful as can be, and now it’s time for us to ask for your help.

We need to get a sense of how many people are interested in this project. If you think you’d like to support it, then you can help by reblogging this post and filling out this short survey to tell us a bit about where you stand in your interest. It’s anonymous, and should only take a minute or two. Following this blog will also keep you in the loop for any important updates.
