16 & 17 for the ask game :)

16. Is there a ship that made you realize something about yourself? 
Hmmmm. That’s kind of a hard question I think because to me the answer is yes, all of them. Maybe I’m a little over-analytical, but I feel like every ship has some kind of core attraction that draws a person in for whatever reason. For a ship like megstiel, for example, it’s this kind of “opposites attract, there’s a little good in the bad girl and a little bad in the good guy” kind of thing that I think pulls me in. So like, looking at that, I suppose it shows me that I like the idea of people coming together and bringing out better qualities in each other. 

I think there’s something in every ship I enjoy that says something about me. I love interesting character dynamics, so maybe that’s what I realized. 

17. Is there a type of ship you always go for? 
Oh yes. Drama and angst are pretty much a must. I love stories where there’s something huge keeping lovers apart, whether that’s a war or physical space or even one character’s personal issues. I love love stories where characters have to compromise with each other, where the can be better (or worse) people because of each other, and where they’re just not quite allowed to be together for whatever reason. Of course, I’m a huge sap so I want to see them overcome their adversities and get together in the end, but I want them to earn it.

If it’s a two person couple I need a side couple. Fics centered around one ship are fine and good but it gets stale after awhile for me depending on the word count. Which is why one of my upcoming Wincest fics has background Megstiel. Sam lives with Cas & Meg and it’s definitely gonna get to the point where the four of them are friends. 😀

It depends on the world for me. Action/Adventure AUs where other things are going on usually means there’s more going on that just the couple drama so that keeps me entertained. A good side plot can help in that respect dealing with other relationships (parent-child, friends, ect.) can help, too. But yeah, there’s gotta be something else. 

I’m excited about them all being friends though! Esp if Sam is living with Meg and Cas.

You Want it Darker
This feels a little like a psychological horror title, to me. Maybe something like a case fic in which TFW is hunting some kind of shadow creature in a confined space during a power outage. 

Fly, Dark Angel
Okay, so I’m thinking an AU with ascended demons. I’d probably write it Megstiel, tbh. 

Under the Laurel Wreath with Acorns, I Know Your Heart Beats
Pagan  AU in which Dean is a male forest spirit. Castiel is his favorite human but he dies tragically as a child. Centuries later, when Castiel is reincarnated back into the area that Dean presides over, he tries to reconnect with his favorite person. It would start in an unspecified ancient period and then shift to modern times. 

Your Fault 
Sounds like an opportunity for Dean whump, if you ask me. Gen or destiel in which I would expose all of the doubt and fear and self-hatred Dean has. Canon verse. 

Ballad of Mona Lisa 
Artist!Cas is paid by the very wealthy Winchester family to paint portraits of their oldest son before his wedding. Over the course of a few months, the two of them start to fall for one another. But, Dean is getting married, so could it ever work?

I don’t understand

Why there is so much hatred for Destiel from other Castiel ships?

Like at first i thought it was cause a large majority of Destielfics make meg this evil vile witch and Dean the night in shining armor. Like yeah that pisses me off but i feel like I’m in the wrong for being a part of both these ships. And a group that i created as a safe space to make friends with other shippers is rapidly becoming a Destiel bashing party and it’s really starting to make me want to leave the fandom. It’s like no matter what ship I’m in, or how many times I try to be positive, it’s not enough.

First of all, you’re not in the wrong for liking both ships. You can ship whatever the hell you damn well please as long as it makes you happy. Don’t ever feel bad for shipping things that make you happy. 

And I’m sorry people are resorting to ship hate. Some people are just so damn bitter that they have to wank all over the place. It’s one of the joys of multishipping that you get to see both sides be ugly about the other. :/ 

Don’t let them drive you out if you don’t want to leave. Block people if you have to. Stand firm in your conviction that you will not be part of ship bashing. It’s hard sometimes and it’s frustrating as hell but you can’t let them ruin your fun. If they want to wank they can do that in their own spaces, but if it’s a place you created put your foot down and tell them to cut it out or get lost. 

And, most importantly, know there are people out there who love both destiel and megstiel and who don’t put up with that crap. And there are people who only ship megstiel but still don’t bash destiel. Unfortunately, you can’t get everyone who wants to be a jerk to stop being a jerk but there are people who don’t have the time for hate and just want to be happy with their ships. Find those people, form friendships with them and ignore everyone else. You can’t change everyone, but you can block nasty people.

Ship that you find most sexy: 
That’s a tough one. My gut says Megstiel, though, because holy crap. Like, Meg was super fun and she kinda pulls this secret sexy side out of Cas and I’m definitely 100% for that. They’re definitely up there on my list of sexiest ships. 
Ship that pisses you off: 
You know, I don’t really get that worked up about ships too often. Like, most of them I’m either okay with or I just ignore completely (if I don’t like them). I think, if I’m honest, it’s more the way ships are treated in a lot of fanfic that pisses me off. Like, I’m not a huge fan of Dean/Lisa or Dean/Jo, but I get frustrated at the way these ladies are portrayed in fanfic a lot so in those cases they piss me off. Same with Cas/Balthazar, and Cas/Meg (even though I really fricken love those ships. They’re wonderful when done the way I like, but not so great 95% of the time as a past ship.) Sam/Gabe is one I haven’t ever been able to “get” but it doesn’t piss me off as much as annoys me at times. 
Ship that you secretly like: 
Woah, boy. lol. I mean, is it really a secret at this point that I like Wincest?I mean, it doesn’t often make an appearance on this blog but if everyone’s paying attention it’s pretty easy to figure out. But I suppose it would be my “secret” ship.
