How…”

I’ve had a hellish year, and I have done my best to keep up with everyone’s writing. But yeah. Most of my friends stopped reading this year (well, it’s been coming, but this year it was many more, and much more noticeable) so it’s definitely not you. I have dealt with a litlte guilty – I seriously believe in encouragement and in just supporting my mates. So I used to read everything that didn’t squick me, but you end up feeling a little hurt when people don’t do the same

(haha I have a lot say) even though that isn’t why you are doing at all! The heart and the ego, eh? anyway. this year has been hellish for me so it changed the way I interacted. I am still subscribed to almost all the writer friends on my list, but I delete a lot more notifications than I used to.

That makes a lot of sense, honestly. When life gets hard you gotta do what you can to be more comfortable and enjoy stuff when/how you can. The good thing about having a lot of buddies is that you have a lot of buddies but the bad thing is feeling like you’re missing people out or not giving everyone enough attention in their endeavors. I definitely want to support my friends, but I’m human and I forget things and get busy. So yeah, I get it. I think, even if you’re not reading the things that your friends write, being friends with people still has value. Just by having fun and talking to people, you know?

Also, I really hope you have a better year next year. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and send good vibes your way.

How many of the folks who follow me…”

I don’t read the star wars stuff, but I am subscribed, so if it is story/pairing that interests me I will go read. but I am getting fussier – as the comments to my fics have dropped off I have stopped reading just because someone has written it… so I really do stick to bottom/subby/etc Dean now, because that is what I enjoy reading

I definitely don’t blame you for sticking to the stuff you’re enjoying. Read what makes you happy.

I know I’ve kind of fallen by the wayside in terms of reading and commenting just because I’m trying to spend more time on other hobbies. But that doesn’t exactly help the situation, I’m sure. I know I’m not the only one who’s experienced a drop off in terms of interaction this year.

5. Which fandoms have your written fanfiction for?

So far it’s only been Supernatural and Star Wars but I’m thinking of branching into DC and Marvel for a few one-shots.

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?

Dean/Ketch is definitely one I adore that was pretty obscure for a while. And by obscure I mean I knew everyone who was writing fic for it because it was literally me and four other people. It’s still pretty small but I’m glad more folks seem to be enjoying it.

26. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?

It depends. Sometimes it’s a line for the fic, sometimes it’s a line from a song I listen to while writing, sometimes it just pops into my head. Other times it’s a terrible pun.

39. What is you greatest strength as a writer?

Fuck, I dunno.

41. List and link to 5 fanfics you are currently reading:

Oh, boy. I’m pretty sure all of these are gonna be WIPs.

I’d Like My Obituary to Hint at a Sequel by violetwilson (T, Star Wars, Reylo, Modern gothic AU) This fic is beautiful. It’s got the gothic aesthetic going on but it’s not gloomy and it doesn’t feel bound for ruin the way a lot of gothic literature does. It’s eerie and spooky at times, but it’s also lighthearted and pretty funny in places.

Summer Heat by IshaRen (E, Star Wars, Reylo, A/B/O AU) So I’m always interested to see how different authors do a/b/o and in different fandoms and this take was totally different from what I’m used to. Alphas are considered more dangerous than betas, and they’re heavily tracked and monitored… or worse. Omegas are very, very rare and possibly dying out. The atmosphere is engaging and the tension is palpable.

Alone With You by @samanddeaninpanties (E, Supernatural, Modern AU, Sastiel) It’s a sex work positive sex worker fic! I really love Cas being not so confident and dealing with his past baggage, Sam being sexually confident but not super confident with the whole relationship thing, and Dean being way overprotective. It’s a take I don’t see a lot and I’m definitely here for. Also, Cas and Jack are super sweet together and I love it.

I think those are the only ones I’m currently reading. I have some on my “to read” list but I think most of them are short.

48. Do you leave reviews when you read fanfiction? Why/Why not?

I try to. A lot of times I read really late at night (usually until I fall asleep) so I forget to comment on every chapter but I do try to leave at least one comment on the end of the fic. Comments are important for writers.

Thanks!

Asky thingys!

Sometimes Tumblr sounds like the aliens in all those sci-fi movies where judgemental aliens think there’s nothing good about humanity so they might as well wipe us all out.

ohhh! this is such a good explanation!

the sanctimonious judgement gets to me sometimes!

It drives me up a flippin’ tree if I’m honest. Like, the refusal to see that there’s good in the bad (and how “bad” is defined) makes me question what the purpose of it all is. If you’re so ready to judge everyone for having fun and slam everything then like… what’s the point of enjoying anything ever? No fun allowed!

“An Announcement”

Welcome to multi fandom – I share a ton of SPN, but also Resident Evil, Until Dawn, Marvel, and whatever else I please. It’s your blog, it should be about the things you love! =)

@majesticduxk said: it’s weird you know, I always just post what I want, and it never occurs to me no one else does… but I am glad you making moves to make your blog much more something you want!

@majesticjiminie said: I’m so glad you decided to just say, fuck it, and blog about what you want. It always surprises me when people don’t do that, cause I give no fucks and post everything, ha ha, so I’m glad you’ve decided not to worry anymore ❤

@unforth-ninawaters said: Yaaas join me in posting multifandom chaos

@ltleflrt said: I think it’s funny you’re making an announcement. I just start reblogging my new loves and hope for the best lol

Thanks guys! I gotta say I was pretty nervous about it, but your support (and the support of everyone who liked my post) means a lot. I’m looking forward to the chaos a little bit, though, I gotta see. It’ll be fun to just do what I want now that I’ve given myself permission to do so.

@whitmerule said: Good to know! 🙂 Personally I find reylo kind of creepy but that is why I have it blacklisted – and I follow you because I like you, so I still want you around. Certainly no shipping hate or blocking from this quarter.

You’re totally free to feel that way, I’ll just make sure I keep it tagged 🙂

@wingstocarryon-replies said: Can’t wait! I love star wars and am interested in Reylo. Just like I love spn. Talk to me about either any time!

Lol, you sure? B/c I could talk about the reylo dynamic for days, probably. And like, the numerous narrative foils in the saga as a whole and various character arcs and all that fun stuff. I’ve been toying with a few posts for weeks now that deal with the ways different characters function as mentors and how successful they are/aren’t. I’ll extend the same offer to you, of course. Anytime you want to talk about star wars, or reylo, or spn, I’d love to chat.

@majesticduxk
It’s one of the most fascinating things imo. I haven’t written half the wild things I want to and I tend to think of myself as one of the more tame writers in my little circle of people I talk to. Every once in a while though I’ll come across something and I’m just struck by how one man’s bread and butter is another’s extreme. It’s definitely interesting and it makes me wonder how some of my fics are received. I wonder just how much of my “normal” is one something one of my readers feels is an fun and scandalous (but in a good way).

@majesticduxk replied to your post “My New Years Resolution this year was to do the things I want without…”

I feel like small challenges are great, because they are approachable, but can still make a huge difference in your life ❤

That’s kind of why I make the resolutions I do. I only do one a year and they’re always small. Sure, i’d be nice to have larger goals but those always seem overwhelming. I think if I just focus on one thing that makes an impact hopefully it will make more of a difference.
