Seriously! Like, yeah, I get that he was a demon and he was potentially dangerous being around too many people, but they could have played with exactly how dangerous he could potentially be. They seemed to want to do that with the whole MoC thing so why not just extend the demon thing for a little longer? ugh. Yeah, I’m a little bitter about how little demon!Dean we got.

@rosemoonweaver YES! It was like – MoC was demon!Dean without the super powers. Which, yeah, sure, I get that but– Come on. Give us a little more. I love it when the brothers are together and all that jazz as much as the next fan but– Sometimes a little bit of different is nice. Especially since they spent that whole damn season fighting anyways.

Yes! Like, honestly, I don’t think I would have minded if Sam and Dean were separated for a little longer. They always come back to each other anyway, so I don’t see why they couldn’t just play with that for a bit. Or even just give us more than Dean singing karaoke when they were separated. I dunno. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I don’t see anything wrong with giving Sam and Dean a little time apart if it cranks up the angst factor and there’s a good reason for it. And demon!Dean was as good a reason as they’re ever really gonna have. The lying to each other and fighting thing got old in season 2 for me.

You and I are both minority then because I agree completely. The fighting over the same stuff got dull fast. But demon!Dean, hell even purgatory!Dean – were both great ways to separate the bros and add to the angst without being dull. Purgatory would have been a little harder to work considering they fucked up Sam’s entire storyline while Dean was in purgatory so there would have been almost no Sam on screen if they’d kept him there longer (because seriously – no one wants to see Sam with that dull ass existence while Dean’s fighting for his life in Purgatory.)

Definitely!

I really hate what they did to Sam when Dean was in purgatory. Like, I get why he ran off – he was depressed, had no idea how to fix it and had no one left so he was hiding – but they never did anything more than give that a throwaway line. And I wish they would have explored Sam’s grief more but they don’t seem to be good at exploring grief these days. But yeah. It could have been great angst if they did more with it. Like if they would have had Sam look for Kevin, kill demons, and angst about the fact that he didn’t know how to even try to get Dean back or if it was even possible.

I’ve never been a fan of Sam and Dean fighting. Even in the early seasons, I was like… why? There are ways to drive tension and angst without having characters lie and fight and there are plenty of things spn has done in the past that could have provided that but I think they’re too afraid to actually do that.

While I haven’t written Winjimstiel as of yet, I think that adding Jimmy to the mix is an awesome additional element cause he’s just such an interesting character. (And yes, it was sort of revenge lol)

lol. I knew it!

Jimmy is so much fun! God, I love that dude. I do tend to write fanon Jimmy but I think even adding canon Jimmy to the mix could be fun. He just plays off everyone in a really fun way and it’s always a surprise seeing what he’ll wind up doing next. I think you could have a lot of fun with him.

Kind of giggling because I never even considered that aspect when giving out prompts – we have the whole range of weather where I live.

lol. It’s funny, honestly. And just my luck if I’m honest. I have a habit of getting prompts for challenges that I’m like… huh? But that’s what google and friends who live up north are for.

We usually do get snow at least twice a winter around here, this year was just odd. And, we’re never prepared for any kind of snow that’s more than a light dusting. A few years back we had a ton of snow storms and power went out in the northern part of the state. Pipes froze all over the place and roofs caved in. It was a disaster.

Weather around here is either windy or hot. That’s pretty much it.

We live in a valley in the mountains up north, so we get winds like none other, freezing weather in the winter with a ton of snow, and hot af summer weather. Today was just muggy because it was hot as hell plus thunderstorms which ehhh. But.

Has this happened before btw? Where I’ve tossed you a prompt you were honestly lost on? (Cause if it has I might actually start feeling a little bad lol – the people I know usually get the weird prompts because I know if they can handle it – but if I’ve tossed you some that have been too weird just lemme know!)

Ugh! That’s way too much weather. I know I complain about the heat a lot, but I prefer the dry heat to muggy/humid weather or snow. I’ll keep my boring ol’ desert lol. Though, there are big mountains in the city so those probably get snow. I don’t venture up there much. Too many bears and snakes (I saw a rattlesnake once on a fifth grade field trip – scared the crap out of me).

It’s happened once or twice but it wa more that I’d never written it before. I got pet play once and that was something I’d never even explored…not complaining though because that was a lot of fun. The colors were tricky but that was fine. I don’t mind getting weird or different prompts, though. That’s part of why I sign up for challenges. I like to push myself so don’t ever worry about giving me weird stuff. If it’s waaay too far out of my comfort zone I’ll let you know. 🙂

Now I’m really giggling – wild animals are just kinda… The norm here. We have deer, raccoons and the occasional big cat wander through our front yards regularly and I’ve had to help a friend save a baby moose stuck in a rancher’s fence – Never been face to face with a bear but we do have them, they just stay to themselves unless you bug ‘em. Some foxes and wolves too – but again, they keep to themselves. Lots of little critters (fucking hate the squirrels where I live – they’re assholes. I’d rather deal with a fucking bobcat than a pissed off squirrel). Less snakes (too cold) but we have a few (ten species? I think?) but only the rattlesnake is dangerous – the rest aren’t gonna hurt you if you get bit – I’m a big snake lover though so.

And shit – you’ve been doing rscc that long? Man – time flies. Next months theme is gonna be one that’ll be weird as hell for folks – I’m doing it on account of kink bingo, hoping to help some folks fill a square – a specific brand of adult novelty toy that has quite a reputation for being… Unique.

Geewiz. I’ll stick to the illusion that wild animals are far away. My city is weird as hell, honestly. Like, we have a forest in the middle of the city and mountains not that far from where my grandma lives. (Not to mention the freaking amusement park a block away from my old high school. That has nothing to do with the conversation, I just have to keep mentioning it because it’s weird and random as hell.) So every spring we get bears (usually small ones) wandering into the richer neighbourhoods near the base of the mountains. And there are the occasional coyotes but they don’t like to hang around too much and I’ve heard them more than seen them. We get prairie dogs a lot though. And, you can’t do anything about prairie dogs if they decide to make your yard home because they’re a protected species. Lots of snakes and rats though. I actually mind the rats more, even though I prefer rodents to snakes, because people around here literally get the plauge from rats. My ex was a snake lover. He had a couple of pythons, which I didn’t mind as long as I didn’t have to be around when he fed them. Most of the wild ones around here are rattlers though, and I’m not screwing around with those.

I have! I think I caught the second round? I’ve missed a few months here and there but I’ve been doing it pretty much since I found it. I can’t believe it’s been almost a year though. Also, now I’m curious… I kinda want to know but I also want to be surprised.

They’re just too fluffy for me. The few I’ve read never have anything happen in them. I need some kind of drama or I’m gonna lose interest fast. I am almost 1000% sure I will never write one.

@rosemoonweaver I was following someone that once reblogged a post and put in their tags that they didn’t understand why all fics weren’t just happy and fluffy because fanfic is a happy place in a sad world. Like, more power to you for your decision person – you read your fluff and happy endings, no skin off my teeth – but to me?

Fanfic is a happy place but it’s also a form of entertainment and I expect to be entertained, you know? Give me some drama and angst and a hopeful ending (or even a heartbreaking ending or cliffhanger – I just want to be intrigued!).

The only real “traditional” one I wrote was my Sam/Jess/Brady and I used it for RSCC anti-valentine’s day. It was like 1k of dull, boring, tooth rotting fluff that I still dislike because I feel like nothing happened

If all fic was happy and fluffy I wouldn’t be reading or writing it tbh. I’m 100% with you there. I love a happy ending, but make it worth it. Give me some heartache, some mystery, some danger, just something.

I can only maintain interest in something fluffy for about 1.5k  without feeling the need to have something else happen. I think that’s the perfect  length for a slice of life fic, which is the perfect place for fluff for me. But I cannot maintain enthusiasm much longer than that.

lbr though, nothing actually happens in a coffee shop au ever. Unless you make the coffee shop like, idk, a cover for some kind of illegal outfit, it’s gonna be tooth rotting fluff.

Oh my god coffeeshop AU/mafia AU – this needs to be written.

Jimmy and Castiel Novak are a couple of sweet guys running a super cute coffee shop in the middle of the city. But what no one knows is that they’re using the coffeeshop as a cover for drug smuggling for the local mafia family. Detective Dean Winchester might be getting close to cracking the case – if those twins would just stop feeding him their delicious lattes and cakes…

Oh my god, yes, please! I need that!

Ahaha I would read the hell out of it, but I’ve never even considered writing a mafia fic before lol.

lol. It could be fun, though. You might enjoy it…

I’ve never had much interest in the mafia in general, I wouldn’t do it justice. Plus I’ve never really written dcj – Honestly there’s a ton of other authors that’d do it better – y’all are free to take the idea and run with it.

That’s fair. If you’re not interested writing a whole fic is probably not a good idea.

Just gonna throw this out there, though, but dcj shippers tend to be… excitable is a good word for it. If you ever did want to try your hand at it we’d be very appreciative. Just sayin’.

Yes! I didn’t mean to imply I’d never write it – I want to write DCJ sooooo badly. I’d just rather dip my toes in at first – I’m thinking of writing them for one of my kink bingo squares actually, I just need to decide which.

😀 *is very excited*

Now, I’m intrigued. Any particular ones you’re leaning towards?

Well I’m kinda leaning toward objectification (bottom/sub Dean). But I have voyeurism which would be fun too – but I have a great Wincest idea for that so I’m super torn on that square. And then there’s finger sucking which would also work for DCJ bottom/sub Dean – but again – that one I’m leaning more toward Wincest with bottom/sub Sam or even Sastiel/past Wincestiel while Dean’s a demon – Sam kinda regresses and sometimes can’t sleep without sucking Cas’ fingers – less a kink for that one and more just angst.

All of those sound awesome!

I’m pretty partial to voyeurism with Wincest myself, but that’s just my opinion. Also, I dig the idea of sastiel/past wincestiel with all that angst. I’d be interested to see whatever you wind up writing though, for all of those squares.

Yeah, that’s kinda my thought. But objectification is up in the air, I just know it’s going to be subby Dean getting dressed up like a human doll and completely objectified in public by whoever his Dom(s) is/are.

At some point (aka once I get off my lazy ass and finish this part of Four’s Company) I’m going to release my whole card. And I think when I do, I’m going to make a list of the kinks I have no pairing in mind for (cause a few are like… screaming a certain ship, others I’m just ??? on), and then put up a list of ships I’d like to try writing (like DCJ or Mick/Ketch or even ones I don’t write enough like Destiel) and see what my readers think would be fun. Not for requests, but just to kinda maybe get the creative juices flowing. Maybe do the same with the ships on the card that I don’t know what kinks would work best.

That’s a good idea! (Both the objectification and the card thing.) I might have to steal that idea for my polybingo card. There are some squares I know what I’m gonna do with (or have mostly written) but others, like firefighter au or sam/cas/balthazar are totally drawing blanks for me. If I was more organized I’d be finished with it or closer to done but I’m a hot mess.
