Do you have any headcanons about Kaia and Claire? I still can’t get over them and how much I love them!

😀 Oh anon I totally do! And I’ve been thinking about them a lot, too. Here are some of my headcanons.

Kaia obviously hates sleeping and avoids it as long as possible. It isn’t until she’s about to pass out that she lets herself fall asleep. Claire promises to watch over her while she sleeps. Kaia isn’t sure what she could actually do to help but somehow it kind of does? She still dream walks pretty often, but Claire is there to wake her up before it gets too bad.

The have breakfast together a lot. Of course, it’s never at proper breakfast time because Kaia’s sleep schedule is totally screwed and Claire tends to come back from hunts in the middle of the night but it’s never to late/early for waffles.

Claire has four different leather jackets hanging in her closet. Kaia “borrowed” one because it was a little too cold for just her hoodie and thought Claire noticed she didn’t say anything. (And yeah, it smells like Claire’s perfume so maybe Kaia wears it a little more often than just when it’s cold out.)

Claire is a french fry stealer but she only does it when she knows Kaia is paying attention b/c she wants a reaction more than anything. Kaia frowns and Claire just smirks at her.

Their first kiss is completely on accident. Claire is leaving and they both go in for a hug at the wrong angle and they wind up brushing lips. Claire is actually the one who stutters and fumbles a bit and apologizes all over.

… do you get hassled because you do? That’s ridiculous :-/ headcanons can literally be anything.

I personally have never had anyone come to my askbox and tell me that my headcanons for aro!Dean are bad or wrong or dumb but I have seen a few people who headcanon ace!Dean get told to they shouldn’t. I’ve also seen a few bloggers either imply or outright state that interpreting Dean as aro or ace or gay or literally anything other than straight or bi is wrong for one reason or another. I guess they all missed the memo about fandom being transformative and headcanons being literally anything you wanted them to be. (Or that personal interpretation and re-contextualization is common and literally the reason we have AUs.) (And, of course, Dean is just an example here. I’ve seen a bit of this nonsense with other characters as well.)

So, I haven’t been hassled (which I’m surprised by considering how vocal I am at times about my own headcanons) but I see it enough to make me mad. But yeah, it’s super ridiculous.

You know what’s cool about headcanons? They can be a way of re-contextualizing a character’s thoughts, behavior, and words. They can be a form of interpretation and they’re fun to partake in.

Headcanons aren’t fact. They’re not canon. They can be based on stuff from the canon work, but just because one person has one headcanon doesn’t mean another can’t have a contradictory headcanon.

So, for example, if I headcanon a character as aromantic and I have reasons given the text (and my own personal experience) my headcanon isn’t lesser than anyone else’s. We can all have headcanons that coexist, even if they don’t gel together. My interpretation isn’t “surface level” just because I don’t agree with the majority interpretation and headcanoning of the character.

And that’s a good thing.

I come across a lot of posts about bi dean and het sam so, as someone who’s ace, it’s nice to see aro/ace headcanons. Personally, I see Sam as demisexual and demi(possibly pan)romantic. Either way, I definitely think he has a difficult time with the whole sex and romance thing. As for Dean, I’d never really thought about him being aro, but it kind of makes sense, especially with what we’ve seen on the show. Anyhow… thanks for this. It means a lot.

You’re very welcome, friend. 🙂

I do have to admit, my aro headcanons are a bit self-serving. I’m aro so I like to show some of my favorites as aro in fics and headcanons. (Partly because people tend to understand concepts better in fiction so if they see Dean or Sam or Cas as aro or ace or on the a-spectrum(s), they’ll understand it better.) So yeah, ace and aro headcanons and representations of characters are important to me. 🙂

I tend to see Sam as pansexual demiromantic, but demisexual demiromantic or demisexual panromantic totally works for me, too. I would definitely agree he has issues with sex and romance, though. And I think that can be born out in canon as well because he’s kind of apathetic about sex and romance. Like, as much as people seem to see Sam as straight, I kind of don’t. I don’t see him really caring about the gender of his partners. It kinda feels like a default assumption to me, to be honest. He just isn’t that comfortable with romantic advances and he’s not nearly as anxious to sleep with people as Dean is. So, yeah. Sam, in my mind, is definitely on the a-spectrum.

I’m glad you like to see these headcanons, though. And I’m always up for talking about them at any time. 🙂

Agender Cas headcannon

babe-ylon5:

· Cas telling the boys one day they’d prefer them using gender neutral pronouns when refering to them
¡ Sam doing research on the term
¡ Cas wearing whatever they want and explaining that clothes have no gender
¡ Dean hugging Cas and telling them that this changes nothing
¡ Dean and Sam correcting people (even though Cas can do it themself)
¡ Conversations like this:
“so are you a girl or a boy?”
“I’m an angel of the lord”
“No no whats in your pants”
“I don’t think thats any concern of yours”
“Whats between your legs?”
“Dean, on a good day”

Okay… hmm… CharlieJo for the ship thing

unforth-ninawaters:

I LOVE THEM.
  • who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter: hard choice…okay how about Jo werewolf, Charlie hunter. But I could really go either way.
  • who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman: I DEMAND MER-CHARLIE!!
  • who’s the witch and who’s the familiar: hmmm….I think Charlie as an amazing techno witch and Jo as her familiar who is overly fond of knives. (no, she’s completely appropriately fond of knives)
  • who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict: absolutely hands down barrista Jo, coffee addict Charlie.
  • who’s the professor and who’s the TA: I’m genuinely not sure on this one. I kinda like the idea of more mature teacher Jo, though, and her new perky TA Charlie.
  • who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss): Princess Charlie. Knight Jo. It’s obvious but that doesn’t mean it’s not amazing.
  • who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent: Tough one…I have trouble picturing either as a single parent I’ll admit…but how about Teacher Jo, single parent Charlie with a questionable income stream?
  • who’s the writer and who’s the editor: I don’t know why but my brain immediately screams writer Charlie editor Jo…

send me a ship and I’ll cast the roles!
