Good NY cheesecake is hella smooth. The recipe I have has you let the batter drain through a sieve to get rid of extra air bubbles and it comes out fan-fucking-tastic.
I don’t know what this post was about in the first place anymore.
I’ve never had NY cheesecake. I might have to try it sometime though.
We’re arguing about whether or not cheescake is pie or cake or something else.
Actually some pies do have oreo and graham cracker crusts – caramel pie for instance – but I still count cheescake in a category of its own
Okay, you got me there. Some pies do have cookie and graham cracker crusts.
(it’s okay i also don’t have a strong opinion)
lol. I’m just arguing for the sake of arguing honestly.
(though as further evidence… i will point out that i am not a huge cake fan, i love pie, and i love cheesecake. seems like cheesecake is pie :P)
I knew it! You even have pie in your url!
Figures you’d be on the “cheesecake is pie” bandwagon.
Pies have crust on the bottome. Cheesecake has crust on the bottom. Cake does not have crust.
Mouse cakes can have a crust.
Besides, do graham crackers and brownies really count as a crust?
*raises hand* I actually consider cheesecake cheesecake – it’s not really completely pie, but not really completely cake sooo… >.>
As long as it’s not in the pie category.

@maliciouslycreative
Cheesecake is cake.
It’s got cake in the name.
Sorry for butting in, feel free to ignore me. Have you heard the theory, I think originally by ilostmyshoe-79, that Amelia was a hallucination and Sam was just crazy for a while? Or something like that. It’s my head canon for season 8 and makes the whole thing a lot easier to stomach.
Don’t ever feel bad for jumping in on a post when you have neat info like this!
I haven’t heard this but I actually like it. I would certainly explain the weird vaseline filter on all the flashback stuff.
Personally, I don’t fault Sam for falling apart in the time between season 7 and 8. He lost his brother, all his friends, his mentor, his kinda-sorta home away from home… like he was well and truely alone. That’s enough to break most people, let alone someone who had just come back from horrifying halluciantions. I don’t blame Sam for hiding, whether it was real or not.
I do however, blame the writers for not attempting to make it clearer that Sam was hurting and lost to the point that he either hallucinated or tried to find comfort in someone who was dealing with pretty much the same thing. I would have loved to see how broken and vulnerable Sam was but… we didn’t get that.
WHAT. Dean would be horrified 😉
Nah I was talking actual cake and pie. What is your favourite kind of cake?
I know! What’s wrong with me, right? I’m just not a fan of pie unless it’s chocolate.
Cheesecake counts as cake right? Or is it a custard pie? Does it even adhere to the dessert binary? (Yes, I’m being facetious. I read a fanfic once where Dean, Cas, and Sam were talking about exactly this and it has stuck with me for over a year. But I do actually love cheesecake.)
As for cake that someone cannot deny is cake though, it’s Boston Creme Pie.
