You know, you’re super right about that! Like, we can do a choose your own for adults because we can do whatever the hell we want in fic! There are no rules! It’s kinda magical!

Because Iām still up Iām gonna ask –
If a person couldnāt decide which ship they wanted to write a crack piece for and decided to do a chose your own smut-venture style fic, how should they go about it?
Do they post two separate fic with the same title and opening scene and different ships or should they do a fic w/three chapters? (2 and 3 being the different ships, of course.)

I mean, obvs Iād put it in authors notes that itās up to the reader what the fic is but I have a feeling some people might not touch the fic b/c of the tags. But 2 fics with the same title could also confuse peopleā¦.But yeah, Iāve been thinking about trying something like that since @pherryt did the choose your own adventure ficlet series. It could be a hell of a lot of fun! I used to love those books when I was a kid!

I totally touched the cacti. I also put a staple in my palm because I was curious to see if I could. And I could. And it hurt. And I got all upset about it. So I was also a stupid kid. I think everyone was a stupid kid.
I also had the time when I was three or four and my brother told me the gum I’d found in a drawer was food so I literally chewed and swallowed like two entire packs of gum. My parents didn’t even find out about that until a couple years back, since they weren’t in the room when it happened.

But that is exactly how the cacti get you. They look soft and/or fuzzy and you’re just a kid who sees a fuzzy plant so you’re like “I’m gonna touch it” and you grandpa is like “It’s gonna hurt” and you’re like “but it’s soft!” So you touch it, like a dumbass, and it hurts like hell and your fingers sting for the next five hours because cacti are mean and they don’t care.

lol. It’s funny to me because it’s actually, legitimately writing inspiration. I’m actually hoping I’ll get the fic done this week and it’s definitely going to involve dick shaped cacti and some kind of plant fucking. (But I’m probably not actually gonna put a cactus in anyone’s ass… at least not unpeeled…)(and it’s djc)

I thought i entered. It mustve been a similar something. I had to pick ships and then i had to pick tropesā¦. maybe it was a survey lol. These are awesome have fun with the stories š
the survery was related but a bit different. these were the leftover ships and tropes that didn’t get enough votes to have fics written about them but I figured I might as well do something small with each of them just because.
The other ship thing is still coming, I just have to wait until all the votes are in so I know what tropes I’m writing for the top three ships

I’d ask how many you got to but I worry the number will be depressingly small.
Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s abysmal. I’m not gonna get too negative but it’s probably the easiest fix in a string of issues the whole thing has. I don’t know what it is completely but there is something about the universe that I really do enjoy. And the main characters won me over. But I’ve completely abandoned shows for less so who knows? Maybe it’s the community I’ve created and the work we all create together. But the issue with so few characters of color is a big one and one that really doesn’t need to be the problem it is.

I dunno, I’m torn on that front. Because on one hand, they chose to hire actors and actresses who were that were POC so the characters are POC. But on the other hand, it kinda doesn’t count w/in the show universe if they are angels/demons/leviathans/etc. But on the other other hand, you can stick them in an au where they aren’t a non-human so maybe that counts for something?
Idk, I’m probably the wrong person to make any distinctions in this case. But in terms of being able to include them in fanfic and make fanfic more diverse I feel like that’s at least a tiny positive maybe. Because the show does have a shitty track record.
