But a very cute mess. Am i following your wincest blog? I swear, finding inroads into the wincest half of the fandom is ridiculously tricky for a cas girl…

Thank you 🙂
I don’t know for sure. It’s @marymotherofmonsters if you’re not. I just started a fantasy AU with dragon!Sam!!
If you need people to follow I only know some multishippers who post wincest as well. I think you follow hazel but there’s also @samanddeaninpanties, @intotheruins, @justanothersaltandburn, @purgatoan, @dreamsfromthebunker and these people are all awesome, friendly multishippers who ship wincest and like Cas. I know there are more but my mind is blank rn so if anyone reading this fits the criteria let @trisscar368 know who you are!

OMG yes!! DUDE. Seriously. People really need to stay off rare ship posts with their “platonic besties” bullcrap. Make your own post, please. Let those who ship that thing squee about it in peace. Especially when they start that “I don’t see how you can ship this” thing. Like. I didn’t realize I needed to come up with an essay for why it’s okay for me to ship a rare pair you don’t like??

There’s a weird vein of fandom that insists that we have a “reason” to ship some things. Like, hell, I dunno, I ship ‘em ’cause I can. Goober A has a nice face and Goober B has a bad attitude, that’s enough for me. I enjoy character dynamics.
And like the whole “I don’t ship this but…” “I don’t see it but…” like, I didn’t ask? Also, I don’t get why it’s relevant. Are people gonna get mad because you might ship the thing? Well then screw ’em.

i have had some people ask about dcj in the past, and i’m always happy to answer. but yeah i do the same thing. i read the description, check out their last few posts, and then decide if i want to follow. if someone posts original content i like, that’s great, but they might post a bunch of other things i’m less interested in.

And that makes a lot of sense.

Good grief i can’t imagine running a blog just dedicated to one ship… or one character… even as a side blob. Too much work *puts her multishipper flag up higher*

I have three supernatural blogs. This one, a rare pair one, and a wincest blog *dun dun dun* *people screaming in the streets* *everything is on fire* *cats and dogs are living together* *mass hysteria*
And even then I can’t keep shit straight. Wincestiel winds up on all three, my personal stuff ends up here, I have my ao3 linked to all three so it’s real obvious that I can’t keep my ships straight, and I tend to forget to reblog things to all three all the time. It’s a mess. I’m a mess.

Plus, if people can’t handle that I’m a multishipper chances are we aren’t gonna be close anyway? Like, I’ll talk to anyone who’s friendly, but I’ve certainly noticed that the people I’m closest to are multishippers and so sometimes it’s a little jarring when I come across people who aren’t?

Honestly, yeah. Like, I don’t care, we can reblog each other’s stuff but if we can’t be friends that’s okay pretty much. I don’t mind if people are only following me for destiel but I’m a multishipper at heart so if they get bent out of shape for the not-destiel well.. sorry? I guess? You don’t gotta ship it with me either, I pretty much don’t care as long as you’re cool and don’t demand explinations or “reasons” or whatever.
You know what’s really jarring though? The people who are no only like “I only ship these two goobers” but the ones who are like “I only ship these two goobers and I don’t see how you ship goober A and goober Z. I see them as a friendship and I can’t see it as anything else” and I’m like… really? Not even a little bit? Not even if they were space vampires?
Like, a few come to mind but I can be like “LOOK AT THIS SCENE! LOOK AT THEIR FACES!!! KISS, GOOBERS” and other people are like…. “platonic besties :)” and I’m like…. “how???”

There’s been times when I’ve thought of creating separate blogs for rare pairs and destiel but like… Ughhhh. I don’t know. I’ve gone through so many years with the same blog I guess I don’t see the point??? Like, I see what my other friends end up doing with multiple blogs and it doesn’t look all that appealing, I dunno.

In my own experience it can be a pain in the ass because rare pairs don’t have a whole load of content. The bonus is that rare pair follower do tend to be more engaged and involved. No, typically, you can post whatever you want and people aren’t going to get huffy, typically. I think if you have the energy for it it’s not a bad idea. It’s just work sometimes.

i totally get why dcj is problematic and why it’s squicky for people. they are totally understandable concerns… but yeah, blacklist that stuff. maybe people don’t read blog descriptions??? which is weird bc that’s like the first thing i read… or maybe they don’t know what dcj means? the mysteries of following/unfollowing

Well, if you don’t know what DCJ stands for you could always ask….
I tend to read the blog descriptions then scroll through the blog for a bit before I follow. Like yeah, a person can what they want it the description but their content speaks volumes. I guess people don’t do that though. Who knows.

YES. Omg so much yes about posting the “wrong” ship!! There’s totally an audience for rare pairs but in the process you can lose a lot of followers.

Yup. Like, the thing that’s super annoying is that I’m sure there are people who want to read rare pairs or might like they if they gave the ship a chance but posting here does have the potential to lose me some followers which I kinda hate.
