I am absolutely on board with loving Ben Solo. I think the fact that I love him so hard makes him an even better villain. Whether he gets redemption or not, I’m all heart eyes for that boy, tantrums and all.

Hard same. With like, everything you said. I love that boy in all his angry, explosive, tearful glory.

Like, I dunno, maybe it’s me but I can’t really see getting invested in a space opera saga about wizards with laser swords if I wasn’t interested in the hero and the villain.

As I just walked out of the theatre as well, I’m excited to see your thoughts! 🙂

Oh man I don’t even know where to start, honestly! I’m still processing most of it (and this is after spending hours last night discussing it with my giant nerdy brother.) Uhmmm, spoilers below the cut I guess.

I really liked the character development we got from this film, honestly. The stuff with Poe and Holdo was well done and allowed him to grow into the leader we’re probably going to see him become in ep 9. Also I loved watching his flying in this movie. Rouge One was the first time I’ve ever seen a space battle that I was 100% interested in and this outdid that imo. And! Holy crap! The visual of Holdo flying the cruiser through the star destroyer?! Killed me! So gorgeous! But I loved the lesson Poe learned and how that was really clear at the end when his mission was not to fight and die but get the rest of the rebellion to safety.

I really loved seeing Luke Skywalker again. My brother has some issues with his whole… fucking up royally thing and I get that completely but I also think it kinda worked. Like, imo, the idea that if you built up a character as The Good Guy and A Legend that tends to go to a person’s head and they can wind up screwing the pooch. I mean, to me, the whole thing between Luke and Ben is like a microcosm of the Jedi Order and the Sith. The Jedi create their own problems b/c they’re The Good Guys and offer no solutions for dealing with potential darkness other than like.. killing it or kicking it out. (That’s how you get Sith lords, guys.) So like, I get why people are upset by it with the whole “Luke Skywalker would never” thing which I do understand but I actually don’t think it’s too far out of the realm of possibility.

Rose was adorable and I loved her. She was kind and badass and self-less when need be but wasn’t going to stand behind sacrifices that didn’t really need to be made. (I really didn’t want to see Finn die.) I did think the romance between her and Finn was a little… meh but it didn’t make me super mad or anything. It was just… meh. The Casino stuff dragged a bit but I also liked that they brought up the war machine and how when it comes to war profiteering there are people who play both sides. That was kind of important I thought.

I still love Rey. She’s a little up in the air for me in terms of what she’s going to do and how she’s going to fit. Like, don’t get me wrong, I get that she’s the light side character and she’s gonna defeat the evil and all but I’m not sure how and where we go with that based on what this movie just told us, you know? Like, the Jedi kinda sucked at their job so we need something else to balance the force. I mean, if this means grey Jedi I’m all over it like white on rice and I will die happy, but if not it’s kinda… why? Why have that whole thing about dark and light and balance and all that if you’re just gonna do more of the same in the end. I dunno. I will hold out until the final ep to talk about that.

Hux is a fucking snake and he’s gonna be a big problem in ep 9. Mark my words.

Okay so here’s the part I lose a bunch of people. I love Ben Solo. Like, maybe it’s the soft squishy part inside me that loves villains or maybe it’s be possibility that he could be saved from his own inner darkness, but I just love the character. He’s fascinating to me and I really feel bad for the guy. The part where he killed Snoke and then he and Rey teamed up to fight the guards was so fucking badass and I wanted to scream b/c holy shit!!! Yes?!?!?! It was fun to watch and I wanted sooo badly for him to just decide he was done with it. (I mean, I think he is as it is with the whole “no jedi, no sith, no first order, no rebellion” thing, but he’s got a ways to go still if he gets to join the right side.) It will be interesting to see what happens in the next movie b/c I personally don’t think he could lead his way out of a wet paper bag and that Hux is going to use that to his advantage, but that’s just me.

Okay and the shit with Luke at the end was so badass. I really loved what this movie did with the force and advancing what can be done with it.

And obviously I loved looking at it. There were some down right beautiful shots and the colors were great and it was just… I really loved it and I don’t have all the words to describe why I loved the cinematography but I did.

So those are my thoughts. My long, rambly thoughts lol.

Anyone have Whisper? I made a post about how I’ve been an atheist for 10 years and my family doesn’t have a clue. This was the first IM I received immediately after.

Oh, this guy is also 9-17 years older than me if he was honest about his age range.

Ugh, Mr. Creepypants. I used to have SO MUCH TROUBLE with guys in the bisexual chat rooms and forums. A lot of them just wanted to get with a chick who would also do chicks, but they were totally het themselves.

It got to the point where I’d start off a chat by saying something about how I’d like to watch him suck a dick. If he tried to change the convo immediately to something f/f and refuse to even interact at all about the m/m thing, I’d click out.

Guys are so weird. At least the “bi” guys had a chance with bi women. These guys that get all excited over lesbians it’s like dude no. You’re not getting this at all here.

I also got sick of guys constantly asking for pics, so I started sending them odd angles and unflattering pics. It only backfired on me a few times when guys were totally into it 😀  I’m much more tolerant of women than I am of men when it comes to sexual aggression. Give me a sexually aggressive chick and she can wrap me around her little finger so quick my head spins.

Sorry you had to deal with Mr. Creepypants. I’ll hold grope you until you forget all about him. *fondles your butt*

It’s weird. Normally I feel bad about lying. Technically not a lesbian. But I didn’t feel guilty lying to this dude at all. I SO wasn’t in the mood to try and explain my orientation – I hardly understand it myself. It’s fluid and always changing. But right now? Meh. Guys can fuck off.

Mr. Creepypants was the first of many creeps last night! And he’s tame in comparison to the bullshit I was dealing with a few hours ago.

As for pics – I’m not afraid to send dick pics! Especially if they send me an unsolicited pic first. I should try other types of unflattering pics! Seems like it could be fun. OMG same about sexually aggressive women. They can do whatever the fuck they want to me. Now I’m thinking about Gone Girl for some reason????

Omg yes!!! If a dude gets all homophobic or whiny I don’t bother with them. I’ve wasted too many years of my life on guys who aren’t open to trying new things. No more.

Also, yeah, I’ve run into dudes who hang around LGBTQA groups but are actually straight and just looking for threesome with two chicks. Grrr.

I believe that some people don’t deserve the truth because of their actions and the way they treat people. AC and husband are two of those people, and I tell my mom this all the time because she hates lying and has guilt issues over it, but I really think if a person can’t handle the truth (hehe!) and they’re shitty human beings or treat you like shit, they don’t deserve the truth.

They also don’t deserve explanations. Nobody is entitled to them, but even less so if they’re assholes.

Therefore, unflattering pics and dick pics and really weird pr0n pics go to creeps. If they respond positively to the pics, then I rethink my assessment of them 😀

yes the unflattering pics are really fun though you have to be ready for some irate sexually frustrated man replies which i think are hilarious but others might not agree because they can get really nasty (in a hilariously childish way)

I’m starting to think that @mayalaen @samanddeaninpanties and possibly even @rosemoonweaver if she wants, should all just get together and satisfy one another.

It’s totally doable.

Fuck those creepy bastards.

I have no idea how I got roped (hehe) into this but I’m so in. Those creepy bastards can go fuck themselves and we’ll have all the fun they wish they were allowed to have.

I just generally can’t stand it when people refuse to admit that they understand you point of view. Like. It doesn’t mean you agree, it just means I’ve stated my case deftly. I don’t even need people to agree with me. Unless its social justice or humanitarian issues, but I’ve learned to just tap out if the person is clearly just gonna be gross about it.

Oh totally! There’s nothing more irritating that someone who doesn’t know how to concede a point. Seriously, how hard is it to say “I see where you’re coming from and I understand, I just don’t agree”? It doesn’t mean that you’re admitting defeat or anything like that, just that you get it. But of course there are folks who would prefer to move the goal posts instead when they know you’ve got them.

And ditto on the social justice and humanitarian issues. Sometimes it can be useful to challenge people but there’s no point in wasting breath and time when you know you’re not gonna change their minds.

Like, there’s a huge difference between debating things like tv shows or movies or whatever and having discussions about social justice. Like, when it comes to human rights there really is no debate, just realities that people don’t want to face. Like, it’s one thing to debate the ways to lessen police brutality, for example, but it’s a whole different thing to have to convince a person that police brutality is even an issue in the first place when they don’t want to even admit that it exists.

Oh haha, I read that wroooong lmao! But yeah, I enjoy debate and differing opinions until I feel like people are getting combative. Then I lose all sense of rhetoric and just wanna sock them.

lol. No worries.
I’ve only ever seriously wanted to punch someone during a debate like once. I used to do speech and debate and model UN and stuff like that back in high school (like 6 years ago, holy crap) and there was always this one dude who went to a private school and was in literally everything but he was such a smug asshole. He wasn’t even a nice dude outside of the debate rooms, he was just a jackass.
But yeah if it’s getting too heated there’s a point where everyone should just step back and let it go. Once you cross that line into actually getting pissed off instead of just getting excited and wanting to win there’s no point in continuing.

1. Your job is WHAT NOW!? I’m so jealous. 2. Your comment about Uranus. YASSS. 3. Fight me anytime. I love heated (respectful) debate, and I’ll even just play devil’s advocate for you too.

Oh man, I wish it was my real job. It’s just a dream job right now. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to actually make it a reality but I would love to be a professor of pop culture studies specializing in online fan communities and the expression of gender and sexuality therein. That would be a freaking dream come true. For now I’ll just continue to make observations, though.

lol. Uranus is the best planet. Everyone things it’s the name but nope. It’s just a cool planet!

Good to know! I’ll hit you up the next time I’m feeling argumentative. I love it when people actually enjoy the debate, you know? Like, as long as it’s respectful and everyone is being calm and reasonable it can be a lot of fun. 🙂
