New stupid drama. Tbh I can’t bring myself to give a shit. People care WAY too much about ships. Way, way too much.

I mean, I understand that we’re all giant, passionate nerds (why else would we be in fandom) but holy shit people it’s fiction. Calm down. Real people are more important. Go for a walk. Take a bath. Eat a snack. Something. 

It’s not that big.

You have to suffer the desert all the time, why would you want to write about it? I personally never write about the frozen wasteland around here.

You underestimate just how many people around here write about the desert around here. Like, they romanticize the fuck out of it. Which, okay yeah, it’s pretty but it also sucks. Sunsets are gorgeous but the rest of the day? It’s dry, it’s hot until all of the sudden it’s cold as hell, there’s sand and dirt everywhere and everything is brown. Everything. The plants are brown. The dirt is brown. The houses are brown. 

There’s so much freaking local poetry about mesas and cacti and sunsets. It’s all lies. No one likes it here. 

The only time I write about the desert is to bitch about how much it sucks to live in one. I’m not a strong swimmer and I don’t know much about the ocean but I’d much rather wax poetic about that.

I slid down that rabbit hole real fast for reading kinky shit, and even faster for writing. I was too nervous to include a smut scene in my first BDSM fic, and then what did I write next? A torture-filled one-shot that was pretty much pwp. And it got worse (or maybe better?) from there…When I go back and look at the tags, I’m like, “how did I fit all that shit in there?!”

lol. I’ve had a few moments where’s I’ve looked at my tags and went “I went there? Really? I wrote all that? Okay then.” 

I was so nervous writing my first pwp. I was certain it was totally unsexy crap and everyone was going to hate it. Now I just don’t care. I write all kinds of stuff and hope that the sexy stuff is sexy and the off-putting stuff is off-putting.

As someone who has written freaky shit (I think) I must agree with this. A lot feels mild to me.

lol. Yeah, you’ve definitely written some freaky shit. 

It’s so funny to me, though. Like, if someone asks me to write the freakiest shit I can think of that’s still exciting to me my starting point is bondage. It’s not like the end goal or anything. It’s wild lol.

It’s one of the most fascinating things imo. I haven’t written half the wild things I want to and I tend to think of myself as one of the more tame writers in my little circle of people I talk to. Every once in a while though I’ll come across something and I’m just struck by how one man’s bread and butter is another’s extreme. It’s definitely interesting and it makes me wonder how some of my fics are received. I wonder just how much of my “normal” is one something one of my readers feels is an fun and scandalous (but in a good way).
