I think a lot of it is picking who to have those.convos with and, if they’re public and random other folks weigh in, who to ignore. Like there are convos I would have with you or triss because I trust you both but i wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole from a stranger
(Where stranger can mean, someone I’ve seen around fandom and whose username I recognize but who I don’t personally know)
True. There’s not really anything I can do to keep public conversations or ideas from getting picked up by folks I don’t know and don’t want to talk to (aside from blocking, but you never really know who’s gonna be an issue suddenly). So it’s just a matter of finding the right people to have the right conversations with and not getting caught up in stuff I don’t want to be.Â
I just get disheartened, I think. I need to fix that.Â

I occasionally do, but then I have nice conversations with sensible people who drag me through arguments on the physics of tuning methods
don’t rock the boat is an important mantra for fandom but we’ve gotten to a point where we’re mixing up don’t rock the boat for don’t have opinions and attempt to have a  rational discussion about it
Yeah, but like… I dunno. Folks are gonna continue to have the opinions they want to have. Like, some of the crap I’ve seen in the past few weeks along just make me question if it’s even worth it. It’s one thing to have differing opinions, which is usually a good thing imo, but it’s a whole different thing when you go “hey, this is a fact” and people go “I disagree”.Â
I’d love to have actual discussions about things but I’m losing my faith that that’s even possible. It’d be easier if we could agree on the basics but… ha!

Omg, yes. It’s probably one of my favorite things about the dynamic. He gets her, her pain and anger and loneliness and all that goes with it and he lets her be as pissed off as she wants. I just love it.Â

Lol, you sure? B/c I could talk about the reylo dynamic for days, probably. And like, the numerous narrative foils in the saga as a whole and various character arcs and all that fun stuff. I’ve been toying with a few posts for weeks now that deal with the ways different characters function as mentors and how successful they are/aren’t. I’ll extend the same offer to you, of course. Anytime you want to talk about star wars, or reylo, or spn, I’d love to chat.Â

Sometimes it can’t be helped. Sometimes the mood is with you and other times it just isn’t. Nothing wrong with it. But I suppose the good thing is that if you do get in the mood to write something short later you totally can!Â
