Do you ever think about how, aesthetically as well as perhaps meta-narratively, the First Order and the Resistance are attempted rebrands of The Empire and Rebellion? Or about how both seem to operate on the idea that they’re fighting for glory like their predecessors in the days of old but all they really do is feed the war machine that allows the rich to get richer and the poor to get desperate? How, of all the ST characters, Hux and Poe are the only ones born when the Empire was still a thing? How the superiors of both factions seem to regard their younger officers as a little too gung-ho?

Idk, I just think there’s something interesting going on in respect to how these two sides are so caught up in replicating the glory of the past.

is there bad wayward news??

Yeah. It didn’t get picked up 😦

Well What in the Absolute Fuck?!?

They didn’t want Supernatural without the problematic elements?? Like, a similar show that cuts back some of the racism, sexism, and aggressive misogyny, and they thought, “nah, pass, who would want that?”

I do not understand.

Why have two, potentially lucrative shows when you can have one, that limps painfully towards it’s next retread instead. I just…

I dunno. It doesn’t make any sense. Wayward could have been good. It could have been an improvement and they would’ve been able to have their cake and eat it, too. But who would want that, right? A show with the potential to expand the universe of their flagship (because expanded universes are hot right now) AND be one of the only shows currently on with a female led cast? That might help change the network’s reputation? Nah, that’s too much.
