Summary:

Jimmy and Castiel Novak have a pretty easy job. As night guards at the aquarium, all they really have to do is make sure no one gets in and screws with the fish. Which, ya know, no one ever does.

But maybe what they should be worried about is that none of the fish wind up screwing with them.

i can’t believe none of you assholes told me about this??? some of my favorite things:

a) octos
b) dcj [jimmy]
c) hilarious jokes [also from jimmy]
d) flippin’ the script with dean as creature

there’s a hentai joke… there’s an mpreg joke… dean is adorable… self-lubricating tentacles, VERY convenient, and i’m willing to go with it…

a note about consent: dean is a half-octo in an aquarium. he doesn’t speak english but he does understand it, is sentient, and initiates contact with c&j.

let me reiterate: why didn’t anyone tell me about this???? i’m disgruntled.

WAIT I JUST READ “THE SHAPE OF WATER” (+TWINCEST)

now that i realize that, i would put it slightly below the fishfucker movie, ONLY because there was no space race talk in this

add in a joke from jimmy about the soviets and this will far surpass guillermo del torro’s 2017 masterpiece “the shape of water” starring sally hawkins and that fishdude

I have no idea if this crack piece even deserves to be compared to The Shape of Water but you know what. I’m totally gonna take it! Thank you!

I’m so glad this weird little fic is giving so many people such joy. And that my stupid mpreg and hentai jokes make people laugh lol.

Thanks for reading it and I’m glad you enjoyed it!

look i know del toro took that thing really seriously, but that just makes me want the kind of drugs that del toro is on

you also missed the erotic egg eating part of the shape of water plot, which is too bad because that was way sexier than c&j, but i’m forgiving it

no seriously i loved this fic!! and it’s too bad i ignore everything @robotsnchicks says to me or i would’ve read it earlier xD

lol. In my defense, this was written a few weeks before The Shape of Water came out and I’m not psychic so I had no idea I would want to include and erotic egg eating scene.

17 : Do you make soundtracks for each story?

Oh yes! Most of my longer works have playlists that I spend a little too much time picking out and arranging.

28 : On a scale of 1-10, how much do you stress about choosing character names?

Uh… 2. In fanfic it’s easy because they already have names and I don’t have to worry about it. In original fic the characters just kinda show up with names attached. I’m not the kind of person who gets overly sentimental about what my characters are called.

Thanks!

8 : What author would you be most excited to be compared to?

Oh, boy, I don’t know. I’ve had people compare me to dead pretentious white dude authors before (and they meant it as a compliment) and that was a little scaring lol. I wouldn’t mind being compared to Li-Young Lee or Louis Simpson because I want my fiction to be poetic and I love both of their styles.

10 : Do you brain-storm story ideas alone or with others?

Depends. If it’s an idea I know one of my friends would enjoy talking about or I get stuck somewhere I’ll brainstorm with other folks but if no one else is interested I’ll figure it out on my own.

23 : Are you proud or anxious to show off your writing?

I tend to be more anxious than proud. The things I love the most are usually the ones that get completely overlooked so it’s a little disheartening. I’m not anxious about showing off the things I think are total crap though, those ones I’ve just completely given up on by the time I post them.

Thanks!

12, 22, 32, and 42!

12 : Is your writing space clean or cluttered?

It’s a disaster. There are currently, three notebooks, a water bottle, a soda bottle, a bag of pretzels, a bag of chex mix, my wrist warmers, an incense burner and three boxes of incense on my desk right now. I’m a disaster.

22 : Has your own writing ever made you cry?

All that time. Forget-Me-Not was particularly tear jerking. My fics make me anxious too, if something anxiety inducing is happening.

32 : Do you give your side-characters extensive backstories?

Not usually. Unless they keep popping up and decide to be a big part of the fic I don’t really spend too much time on the side characters.

42 : Do critiques motivate or discourage you?

Depends. If it’s something I asked for from someone I know and trust than it’s helpful and it allows me to fix things and move forward. If I didn’t ask for it I just makes me mad. By the time I actually publish a fic I’m pretty much done with that chapter/fic and I really don’t care to have it critiqued because I’m not going to fix it. It also depends on whether or not it’s actual critique or opinions. “There’s too much description, it slows down the flow of the fic. Cut X, Y, Z” is critique. “I don’t like that X character used to date Y character” isn’t critique and means nothing to me.

Thanks!

5 and 29?

5 : Do you write better with or without deadlines?

Do I write better with deadlines? I’m honestly not sure. I know I actually write if I’m given a deadline. If I don’t have deadlines the chances that my fics will either be forgotten or there will be way too much time between updates are about 89%. But of the fics I’ve written on a deadline, I only really like one of them. So in all honestly I’m not sure. Deadlines make me write so I guess I do write better with them, considering *something* is better than nothing.

29 : Do you tend to underwrite or overwrite in a first draft?

I overwrite. I’m big on long poetic descriptions and huge chunks of time where characters just talk to each other. I have to kill my darlings quite frequently.

Thanks!
