Summary:

Sam Winchester isn’t your typical witch. Practicing a taboo form of magic is bad enough, but it’s another thing entirely to have his brother for a familiar. He’s always been aware that there are those who would like to ruin both him and his brother by separating the two, either because they feel it’s unnatural for witches and their familiars to be related or because they want to steal Dean’s magic for their own. So when Castiel Novak shows up claiming Dean’s his familiar… well Sam’s not willing to go down without a fight.

Castiel Novak is a loner. It’s mostly by choice, but really, what choice do you have when you can see the threads that orchestrate relationships? He knows he can’t get too close to people, because in his experience they always leave when the people they’re destined to love show up. So imagine his luck when he finds both his familiar and the man he’s destined to have a relationship within the same week! It’s really just too bad he and Sam can’t seem to get along for five minutes. The threads have never been wrong before but damn would it make it easier if they could just hate each other instead.

In other, highly shocking news, I hate my father. I’m never allowed to have my own fucking problems without hearing “welcome to my world” and bitching about his problems. 

Newsflash, asshole, my problems are because of you! If you weren’t abusive I wouldn’t be as fucked up as I am now! If you weren’t a useless drunk I wouldn’t’ve had to give up on everything I ever wanted. I don’t give a fuck that you did one thing two weeks ago, I’m picking up after you, doing your laundry, cooking your meals, fetching and carrying for you and literally everyone else in this house and I swear to god if people don’t start treating me with a little respect I’m going to lose my goddamn mind!

Fuck you, asshole! You ruined my life! If I want to complain about the fact that I can’t even have half a pot of coffee to myself I’m gonna fucking complain and you can shut your goddamn mouth because literally no one cares that your friends don’t listen to you. NO ONE listens to me. No one respects me. No one even thinks about what I need or want or do until I crash and the dishes pile up and I don’t move for 18 hours at a time. Eat a dick, dad.

A Small List of Things I Loved about Deadpool 2

Spoilers below the cut

  • So first, the Vanessa thing. I actually was super upset about this at first. I was worried they’d shat the bed and decided to go back on all the shit that made Deadpool great (mainly awareness of comics and tropes and reversal of those tropes). But honestly, it was probably one of the best portrayals of loss and grief in a comic book movie. The revenge plot takes up maybe five minutes and then it moves on to actual grief and moving on. I appreciated that so much. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t love that they did it but I’m glad it wasn’t the whole fucking plot. 
  • And also about Vanessa, I was reminded of Deadpool and Lady Death. When he died the first time I thought that’s where they were going and while it’s not the same it feels similar and makes sense. I feel like that makes it better in a way.
  • “He was abused. You can tell. You can always tell.” That hit home a little too much. But thank you Wade for always standing up for kids.
  • Speaking of – queer coding. I dont mean the whole “oh they *might* be queer” I mean that the real villains of this movie are essentially religious bigots forcing conversion therapy on mutant kids. Wade calls out the X-Men as a metaphor for racism in the 60s and while he’s right, they’re also a metaphor for queer folks on the 2000s and that’s really apparent in this film. (Even to the point that the orphanage workers are referred to as child predators.)
  • Domino is so great. She literally just nopes right out of a fight at one point. I adore her.
  • Also the rest of the X-Men just nope out of this movie all together.
  • “Who are you?” “I’m Batman”
  • “Can it, Thanos.”
  • This movie is gorey as shit and I’m here for it. I winced so much.
  • So many cameos. Also, poor Bill Skarsgard.
  • Deadpool is really trying to land himself a boyfriend in this and I’m here. For. It.It’s nice to see him flirt with dudes. 
  • Cable and Deadpool. I ship it. I ship it hard. The banter is so on point. And like… Nate. Dude. There was no need for chapstick. What are you doing? Dude!
  • Okay but this movie is funny as shit too. Obviously. But I laughed so much.
  • The chorus singing “holy shitballs” during the final fight.
  • Take On Me being really beautiful, actually. I cried.
  • Colossus gets to say fuck.
  • Name dropping Hope Summers. And related, like why is Deadpool 2 a better X-Men movie than all X-Men movies?
  • The end credits scenes.
