Yes. We’re tag wranglers. That is literally-

We do. The wranglers? You might have heard of-

What? Wait, you don’t need to-

Ah, thank you sarlacc. (“She shoots, she scores!”)

(Brought to you by the committee to remind you that it’s perfectly fine to use chatty tags if you want, without apologizing or asking if people object or whatever. That is fine. Nobody should tell you otherwise.) (In fact, please don’t apologize.) (Really, don’t.)

(While you tag, please do remember we’re here and human, not computers. There is always at least one human who reads your tags and figures out what to do with them, if no one has used those exact tags before. Your tags will be out of order and contextless to us. We’ll connect tags that seem to have a specific meaning without opening your work or looking at your notes in most cases, because literally all we get is each tag, by itself. We don’t see your summary or the other tags on your work. We don’t know that you meant that tag ironically. When you tag, please think about how your individual tags might be hooked up to the filter system and tag accordingly. This will help users looking through tags find works they’re interested in and keep your work from appearing in filters you didn’t mean for it to be in.)

…And it appears I’ve caused confusion with this one, too. Whoops! Explanation time.

WWM Sign-up July 20-22

weekendwritingmarathon:

Need to get some words in? The Weekend Writing Marathon (WWM) is a writing challenge designed to help you do just that. You set your own writing goal for the weekend and work to achieve it before reporting back to the group on Sunday night.

How do I participate?

1. Reblog this post with your weekend writing plans–be as specific (or not) as you’d like.

2. Start writing on Friday 12:01 am local time. Work to meet your goal by Sunday night at 11:59 pm local time. You can work on whatever you want during this time.

3. Post your accomplishments at the end of the weekend  (even if you didn’t reach your goal).

4. Whenever you post any work written during the WWM event please submit it to us so your fic can be included in our weekly Fic Roundup.

How do I report my accomplishments?

A Finish Line post will go up on Sunday. Reblog that post with your final word count/accomplished goal(s) by Monday at midnight local time. Totals from the weekend will be posted on Tuesday.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Forgot to do this earlier but….

1) Finish the chapter I’m working on for B&T
2) Write a short something or other.

Emergency Commissions

jupiterjames:

I have very suddenly and unexpectedly gone into the hole by $2,670.00. I have been out of work for too long to be able to eat this sort of debt. I budget down to the penny, and barely make enough to meet my base living requirements as it is.

I need to feed myself, and I need to feed my daughter, and I need to pay my rent.

So, here’s the deal.

If you [ buy me a ko-fi here ] I will write you a fic. $10 = 1,000 words minimum, up to $50 = 5,000 words. At this point, I cannot offer longer fics with working full time and parenting and life. As always, feel free to donate more if you like, but I will not be able to write a fic longer than 5,000 words for you.

Naturally, I will also happily accept donations even if you don’t want a fic.

Obviously, I’m not asking for, or expecting miracles, but this is a situation where every single bit will help, but I didn’t want to beg with no benefit to any of you generous souls.

Details:

I have only 3 caveats:

  • No incest
  • No underage
  • No rape/non-con

Fandoms I am comfortable writing for:

  • Supernatural
  • Mass Effect
  • Dragon Age
  • Final Fantasy (except XV, since I haven’t finished it)
  • Harry Potter
  • Star Trek
  • Some Marvel Cinematic Universe

There are others, but feel free to ask.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Donate to my ko-fi
  2. Send me an email at jupiterajames@gmail.com with your information so that I can identify your donation.
  3. Tell me your prompt and pairing and rating. You can give me as much or as little direction as you wish.
  4. Wait for me to send you and PDF of your story. You approve it, or tell me what you want changed. It happens until you’re happy.
  5. Tell me where you want it posted, if at all. You can keep it to yourself, or I can post (1K) to Tumblr, over 1K to Ao3. You may also post the story anywhere you wish with credit.

Here are links to my works for reference:

[ Tumblr ]
[ Ao3

Signal boosting is also greatly appreciated!

I am very sad that there’s so little Maura contend, so I felt personally obliged to contribute!
Seriously where are the shippers? I thought Reylos would appreciate such dynamic!

There are plenty of us, friend! We’re a small ‘ship (with PLENTY of Reylo overlap if the folks that follow this sideblog are any indication), but the content has been excellent so far. Thank you for contributing this lovely piece!

Summary:

After the death of her mother, Rey and her father packed up and moved away from the island she was born on to spend the rest of their days in the unforgiving desert. She’d spent fourteen years in the sand and the heat, longing for home and the ocean that sang to her every night when she closed her eyes.
But with the death of her father, Rey was given the opportunity to move home again. She’d known it wouldn’t be the same, but she hadn’t expected it to be so… strange. There’s something different in the air now, something haunting that lingers in the air and plagues her dreams. But what does it mean for her, for the island, and for the mysterious man she almost remembers?

A re-upload of an unfinished WIP.

lmao, instead of Neighbor for number 11 I thought it said Necromancy and thought “ah yes how romantic, practicing your raising the dead skills on a dead body then falling in love with said corpse.’

aquawolfgirl:

This is surprisingly awesome, anon! I don’t know if you’re asking for it, but I’m going to write it anyway! It’s so cheesy, I’m sorry, but the idea of Rey loving a decomposing Ben turned me off a little so I made it cheesy 😛 Hope you don’t mind too much!

“Uh, Poe? Is it possible to … miss, during necromancy?”

“What do you mean miss?” Poe asks on the other line, sounding suspicious.

She stares at the man in front of her who is most definitely
not her parents, still dressed in a suit from the funeral, pale as the dead but
looking more and more alive with each second as he sits on top of his own grave
and stares at his hands in awe.

“I mean miss. Like … I missed my parents graves and
accidentally brought the guy beside them to life.”

“… what the fuck, Rey?”

A dead man is sitting at her kitchen counter. A dead man is
nursing a cup of coffee between his hands. A dead man is sitting on one of her
stools as she takes his heartbeat, or lack thereof, and tries not to notice how
sleek his hair is for being dead.

“So that’s how you got out so easily,” she explains, of him
climbing from his grave. “The dirt was fresh.”

Not two days in the ground.

He was in between a girl and her ex, and the ex had a gun.
And then that was it.

“I’m not sure who did it, but they did a nice job. Stitching
it up, I mean,” she tries, nearly choking as his chest is revealed to her. Not
because of the bullet hole that’s been stitched up very cleanly, but because
she should not be admiring the glory that is a dead man’s broad, pale, strong
chest.

She wanted her parents back, she reminds herself. The
parents who dropped her at the fire station, the parents she just found thanks
to the internet, the parents who died in a drunk driving accident not a week
ago before she could even curse them out and ask them why they fucking left
her…

She wanted her parents back.

But instead she got Ben Solo.
