Dean royally pisses off a very old witch and finds himself turned into a guppy. Thankfully, his fish life is spared when a kindly mermaid named Castiel takes him in… as a pet. Dean must now figure out how to break the curse, return to dry land, and keep up contacts with his new fishy friend without any more weird, bat shit complications thrown his way. Which is easier said than done, of course.
The struggle between slowly building things so that your audience will not only believe it, but might actually be surprised/heartbroken/excited when the inevitable hard turn hits and say “fuck it! you want drama? here’s your drama” is a pain in the ass.
I know people love a good slow burn, but writing them is painful.
