A cover of a young Ben Solo tormented by his future on the dark side. I really wanted to do a drawing focusing on the suffering he endured.
I put Snoke in the back trying to get into Ben’s mind, a recurring thing in his entire life. In the scenes below I put as if it were the past and the future, on the left, the moment that was the pinnacle for his fall to the dark, and on the right, He already as the master of the knights of Ren (Vader’s castle in the background); and in the center a young padawan Ben holding the mask of Kylo Ren…

Oh these people are everywhere on this site. In trying to keep myself abreast of fandom drama so I know who to stay away from I’ve been exposed to so much “”“"discourse”“”“ that really just amounts to good old fashioned transphobia, biphobia (no acknowledgement that pan folks exist), acephobia, whorephobia… like you name it, it’s there.

The really insidious thing is that a lot of these folks post stuff that’s pretty relatable. A story about a woman who was mansplained to, followed by complaining about men. Gender essentialism disguised as body positivity. Shitposts unrelated to their hideous politics. You won’t know it unless you pick up on their dog whistles or check their blogs where they do boast about being radfems, or "cis/trans women” . It’s hideous.

She’s a TERF. Logic doesn’t apply to TERFs because they’re stuck on this stupid ass view where they don’t believe trans folks are an actual thing. We’re either 1) evil men trying to horn in on women only spaces 2) confused lesbians 3) non existent attention seekers who never experience “real dysphoria” (tell that to my phantom penis, lady).
Some of these individuals have decided that if identification as trans is all you need to be trans they can all themselves trans (regardless of whether or not that makes any fucking sense or how insensitive and insulting it is) and then shriek about you being a transphobe. Because that makes sense! (I’m not getting into their understanding of identification or being trans because they don’t understand and frankly it makes me want to vomit.)
Next time you see a post on tumblr that’s complaining about men, be wary if they use the word “male” instead of “men” or if they refer to men as “creatures” or any other dehumanizing terms. 90% of the time they’ll be either TERFs, radfems of a different flavor, or something close to it.

Fate by design

My heart broke.

Because of my neurodivergence I was told for years by people who were supposed to take care of me that I lacked the ability to feel empathy, that I had no theory of mind, that I was unable to be considerate of others. I once met someone who told me “Wow, your mom must have trained you well because you’re really nice for a kid who has autism!” Trained they said, as if I were an animal. I couldn’t help but focus on that one word. I know they meant taught, but it still hurt. I was twelve at the time.

Everyday I would have to listen to adults talk amongst themselves about how they had to walk on eggshells around my classmates and I, because we were unpredictable according to them. The security specialist would accompany us when we traveled as as a group, but it wasn’t about keeping us safe it was about keeping others safe from us. Just in case one of us “inexplicably” went berserk. I had a classmate confess that their parents were sending them away to a “special school” to be fixed and that they didnt want to go. Then everytime a shooting happened there would be speculation that the shooter might have been Autistic. The message I was getting was clear—you are a monster. You know happened?

I started to believe them.

I was becoming embittered by the constant bullying, and the blatant disregard for our feelings as humans. The I began to wish misfortune on anyone and everyone around me. Having these feelings made me despair even more because I felt it confirmed what everyone had been saying.

There are few characters I relate to as well as Kylo

Especially among the “but Han and Leia loved him” crowd. Despite a parent’s intentions you can really fuck up a child’s psychology by doing this.

It’s that time of year again, everyone! The best holiday known to man… Halloween! Last year we had a lot of fun by playing with prompts and writing spooky (or not so spooky) stories based on them, so I decided, why not do it again? 

Here’s how it’s going to work 

Rules:

  1. Send me an ask telling me what number you want, if you’re writing gen or ship fic and which ship you’re writing for. Polyships are absolutely allowed. Genfic is also allowed.
  2. You have until September 30th to claim a prompt.
  3. Write the fic. Post by October 31st, 2018. If you need extra time, please let me know.
  4. Tag your post with the tag “rosesficoween”, and with my url (“rosemoonweaver”). Also, please make sure to tag your post with proper content warnings (obvs.)
  5. You should be following me to enter the challenge. It is for my followers, after all.
  6. If you want to post to a side blog, please tell me that in the ask you send.

After your fic is posted, I will reblog it to my blog. After the challenge is over, I will compile a masterpost with all the fics in them. Feel free to go wherever your muse takes you. You’re completely welcome to write darkfic, horror, comedy, romance, etc etc. Just remember to have fun and enjoy yourself.
All ships and all fandoms are welcome with the exception of RPS and fic that features extremely underage characters (13 and younger) in sexually explicit situations.
