Han: Well, now I feel like an ass.
Leia: When do you not?
Han: Almost always. I really like me.
Leia: Baffling.

Summarize your own fics badly:
Two hot witches fight over a cat and are also really dumb about feelings.
Summarize your own fics badly:
Like Roadhouse and Song of the Sea had a baby and that baby only read the Bronte sisters.
“Paige had her own Otomok medallion wrapped around the gunsight mount of the cannon, as she often did, but now she untied it and hung it back around her neck, the way Rose was wearing hers.”

Seals make the worst noises, I swear. Like you’d expect because they’re pretty and graceful (in the water) that they might sound less like congested cavemen but nope. They sound terrible.
if anyone’s still up… those of you who post serial fics, how often do you update? once a week? twice a week? every other week? sporadically?
It depends on how much I have done of the fic before I start posting. I’m impatient as hell so that usually means I have one, maybe two chapters finished before I start posting. If I have all or most of the fic done I’ll update once a week. That seems to be the most successful in terms of reader engagement, but if you fall behind you’re going to be playing catch-up to maintain the pace.
One chapter a month is probably the easiest to manage but you’re probably not going to get steady comments from the same readers. I try to manage two weeks maximum on my current project and it seems to be doing pretty well. It’s long enough that I have time to slack off a bit but not too long that I’ll forget or get lazy and lose readership.
One thing I don’t do is tell my audience what the update schedule is, whether or not I have one. I’ve talked to a few people and from what I can gather, readers are a little more okay with missing updates if they know the fic has a steady schedule than if they don’t know when it’s coming.
