Okay, just so we’re clear (because apparently people are having words about it) I literally don’t give a crap what you write in fanfic. No matter how strange I think it is or how very Not Into It I am I’m not here to harsh anyone’s mellow. Please don’t ever mistake me for the kind of person who gets bend outta shape over crossover fics or w/e.

We’re all kinda weird here. You do you.

Real talk, you know what I hate? Tumblr’s mentality that all men are evil predators and leeches with no redeeming qualities. Like I’m sorry but that mentality makes me want to hurl. No single group of people is just straight up evil because of things they cannot change. Yeah, I know a good portion of it is venting (and very justifiable grievances against an oppressive system and the people who benefit from it) but you gotta be careful about how quick you are to accept some random user’s assertions about “males” or men.

This past week I’ve checked the blogs of every person I’ve seen saying things that seem okay on the surface but feel very dog-whistle-y (wording like “males and females”, “all men [insert thing here]”) and you know what I found? Radfems. TERFs, TWERFs, and SWERFs. (Trans exclusionary, trans women exclusionary, and sex worker exclusionary radfems for those not in the know.)

I’m not saying we can’t talk about the ways being anything other than a cis-dude is made difficult by cis-dudes either knowingly or unknowingly, in an established system or not, but I am saying we need to be more aware and careful of who we’re listening to and who’s rhetoric we’re adopting and allowing in our space.
