Yup. There was one post the OP responded to that was incredibly long andĀ āI know what Iām talking about, I work with autistic peopleā about how it wasĀ āspreading stereotypesā andĀ āgeneralizingā andĀ āproblematicā. Which… if you read the post, youād know OP themselves was autistic and was basing a lot of their headcanon off their own symptoms and relating to Jack in that way. But you know… thatās problematic, I guess.Ā
This is slightly tangential, but Iām honestly starting to get really irritated with how creators are and arenāt allowed to portray neuroatypical and/or mentally ill people in their own creations. Like, yes, I understand that we donāt want to make out like itās always a bad thing or a burden or w/e but a) that gif set wasnāt even doing that and b) it isnāt always peaches and cream. Not everything is a stereotype when it comes to mental struggles, sometimes itās just a common symptom. And sometimes people who struggle with it do feel like their symptoms are a pain in the ass and prevent them from doing what they want, and they should be allowed to express that, too, without being blamed for demonizing themselves. There is a difference between portraying things in a negative light and blaming the neurodivergence and showing a less than sunny side of the neurodivergence without blaming anyone or anything for the behavior.Ā
But thatās the end of that little rant. Basically, Iām tired of seeing anything and everything being turned into a giant fucking problem even when itās ovbious that was never the intent.Ā
So hereās the thing about headcanons (because some people donāt seem to understand this): theyāre not canon. They donāt even have to have a basis in canon. Theyāre literally just opinions.Ā
Headcanons can be based in canon events of a piece of media or they could be completely made up with no textual basis whatsoever, but either way, theyāre not facts. Headcanons are just fun ways that fans engage in the material.Ā
If you donāt like someone elseās headcanon… good for you? If someone offers explanation for their headcanon and you donāt agree… okay? The existence of a headcanon is not a problem. What is a problem is when people with certain headcanon try to push them off on other people and get mad when you refuse to adopt their opinions as your own. But if people are just minding their own business, enjoying fiction and relating to it in their own ways itās not hurting you.Ā

Welcome to a new edition the SPN Rare Pair Christmas Fic Exchange!
What is this?
Well, as the title indicates, itās a fic exchange for SPNās Rare Pairs. Weāll be using a Secret Santa system, meaning that by signing up, you will receive an anonymous fic of your favorite rare pair, but you will also have to write one for someone else.
The fic has to be at least 1k words long and be submitted to our Archive of Our Own Collection, where it will remain anonymous and unrevealed until Christmas Day.
IMPORTANT: All fics must be submitted before the 25th December.
Does the fic have to include Christmas as a theme?
If your recipient indicates that is something theyād like to read, then preferably yes. Otherwise, the topic of the fic is of your choice and your recipientās.
What pairings are allowed?
This is a Rare Pair fic exchange so all pairings are allowed, except for the two most popular ones in the fandom, that being Destiel and Wincest. We will also not allow underage/adult pairings. Other than that, go nuts!
Are OT3ās allowed?
Yes, absolutely. Just make sure you request them when you sign up.
Can I sign up for more than one fic?
No, sorry, one fic per costumer. But you can volunteer to step in if someone else drops out.

What happens if I need to drop out?
