For the content creators in fandom:

1. Your value is not in how much fic you can churn out, how perfect your art is, how many reblogs/likes/comments/kudos you get.

2. You earn space in this community by participation just like everyone else. But you don’t have to continually earn that space over and over and over. I know it feels that way, like you have to post new content ALL THE TIME or everyone will forget you. Participate in the way you can at that moment, and if you need to step back for a while, we’ll be here when you’re ready to come back.

3. Comparison will be the death of us all. If you want crit, find a kind community who will actually help you grow your skills instead of a random person swooping in to make a negative unrequested crit never to be seen again. I highly recommend the discord servers for @weekendwritingmarathon and @weekendartmarathon .
