Highlights from this year’s Pagan Pride

  • The bumper sticker “Sorry I wasn’t at church on Sunday I was busy learning witchcraft and becoming a lesbian” and my brother elbowing me and going “that’s you”.
  • Another bumper sticker that said “I don’t care if you’re straight as long as you act gay in public”.
  • The most beautiful Malamutes and the very small child who politely asked their owner “can I please pet your puppies?”
  • This part of a conversation I overheard

“So I said, really? Who is this Jesus guy? What did he do?”

*cackling* “You didn’t!”

“You should have seen his face!”

  • Before the children’s parade there was a lady throwing rose petals. Some landed on me and I felt special.
  • I got a brand new broomstick skirt for $6.
  • Belly dancer dude. Just everything about him. He was hot and confident and looked amazing.
  • The cackle contest. (I did not participate.)
  • Just the general sense of people calm and happy and being able to celebrate and engage in ritual with other people.
  • I got a mild sunburn. Most of my chest is pink, save for the very suspicious white patch of skin where my pentacle was.
