A little sketch comic about how bisexuality is totally cool and good and not bad.

The format is

cliché!  I know.  But it makes it easy to talk about things I want to talk about.  Thanks for reading!

(I shouldn’t have to say this, but since a lot of people wanted to educate me on twitter: The words listed in panel seven [yes even in the parentheticals!] are just examples of how often acceptable language around gender and sexuality changes.  They are not lists of synonymous words, and many of them are now considered unacceptable.  That’s why they’re on the list. That’s what the list IS. I know.)

Bless this post.

This is fabulous. As much as there’s bi-erasure, I also feel like there’s this idea floating around that being bisexual means you aren’t attracted, as a rule, to transgender/agender/genderqueer/etc folks, and that’s not true. And this comic does a great job breaking down WHY that’s not true (or at least isn’t a blanket statement that can be made – I’m sure there are transphobic bisexuals out there, but that doesn’t mean all of us are).

There is a problem with this post, though. It doesn’t exactly explain pansexuality or bisexuality in the correct light or way for that matter.

We like people for their personality and who they are no matter what.

For example, if there was a person who was born as a female, but is transgender f to m, but is a cross dresser (so wearing women’s clothing), and identifies with the pronouns they/them, then a pansexual person would still love them entirely, through and through, no matter what.

The same cannot be said for someone who is bi-sexual though as a bisexual likes men and women, point blank, so they could not accept a trans f to m who identifies with they and them as they and them is not male or female. If a person is truly bisexual, they only recognize two genders: man and woman. If you are sitting there saying, “No! I’m bisexual and I recognize that there are more genders than two!” then congratulations. You’re actually pansexual.

Personally, I thought I was bisexual for years before I discovered what pansexuality was. Why the change? Because I realized that I was wrong and swallowed my pride (literally) and corrected my orientation rather than try to change the definition of bisexuality to fit social acceptance.

^-^

The post is correct. You’re the one who is ignorant to what bisexuality means.

There are two categories of attraction in bisexuality:

1.) Genders like my own
2.) Genders unlike my own

If you’re not bi, you don’t get a say in this. Only bisexuals can define bisexuality

*head desks repeatedly*
STILL WITH THIS? STILL?

Bisexuality does not enforce a gender binary. Bisexuality does not exclude nonbinary genders.
Bisexuality is not just “men and women”.

Enough.

Also don’t you fucking tell me I can’t love a person for their personality and don’t you fucking tell me I can’t love a ftm person who uses they/them pronouns because I ID as bisexual. Fuck right off with that shit.

Also don’t you even try to paint bisexual people as nbphobic because that’s exactly what you’re doing by asserting that bisexual people only recognize men and woman.

Seriously, go fuck yourself.
