Yeah, exactly. The stuff I read or write about aren’t things I want happening to me or anyone else. Fic is a safe place to explore darker themes and it’s as simple as that.

imo, fiction is always and should always be a place to explore all kinds of topics. It’s the place we discuss human nature and big ideas like freedom and consequence and love, so why can’t we use it to talk about the dark stuff like torture and murder and assault? Truth is, we can. And I’m not going to apologize for ever writing about what other people aren’t comfortable reading, I’m only going to apologize if I don’t tag it correctly.
